British Airways partners with Audible to launch audiobooks and podcasts onboard

British Airways has announced a new partnership with Audible to introduce a wide range of audiobooks and podcasts across its long-haul flights, marking a major expansion of its in-flight entertainment offering.

Passengers can now access more than 250 hours of spoken-word content for free through the airline’s in-flight entertainment system. The collection includes bestsellers, new releases and a variety of genres such as fiction, comedy, wellness and children’s content.

The selection places a strong emphasis on British talent, featuring works from UK authors and actors. Among the highlights is the newly released full-cast audio edition of the Harry Potter series, available exclusively onboard a UK airline.

This marks the first time Audible content has been made available on a UK airline, giving British Airways customers exclusive access to a curated library of premium audio entertainment.

The move comes as demand for audio content continues to grow. Audiobook listening in the UK increased by 31% in 2024, while podcast audiences are also expanding rapidly.

As part of the partnership, passengers new to Audible will be offered a free two-month trial, allowing them to continue listening to content after their journey.

The collaboration is part of British Airways’ broader investment in enhancing the customer experience, following the addition of more than 4,600 titles to its in-flight entertainment system since early 2025.
