Accor’s Emblems Collection Makes North American Debut at Rimrock Banff

Accor’s Emblems Collection Makes North American Debut at Rimrock Banff

Rimrock Banff has reopened following an extensive transformation, becoming the first Emblems Collection property in North America and the Accor luxury brand’s second hotel worldwide.

Set into the mountainside above the town of Banff, the 320-room resort combines redesigned accommodation with a new hydrothermal Bathhouse, four dining venues and guided experiences across the Canadian Rockies.

The opening follows Emblems Collection’s debut at Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa in England.

“Rimrock Banff is a wonderful expression of the Emblems philosophy: an established property with a character of its own, deeply connected to its destination and reimagined through thoughtful design and highly personal service,” said Maud Bailly, CEO of Emblems Collection.

Redesigned Rooms Keep Mountain Views in Focus

The renovation retained Rimrock’s original architectural structure while reshaping its interiors around the surrounding landscape. Terraced spaces face the Bow Valley, with large windows, natural stone and warm wood finishes throughout.

The resort’s 320 rooms include 57 suites. Beds and seating areas have been positioned to make the most of the mountain views.

The Infinity Two-Bedroom Suite features a wraparound terrace measuring more than 1,260 square feet, complete with a barrel sauna and fire table. Wellness Studio suites offer movement and recovery amenities, wellness minibars and access to the resort’s equipment-lending programme.

“This resort, across the decades of its history, has always been defined by its remarkable setting,” said David Garcelon, General Manager of Rimrock Banff.

“This transformation was guided by a simple philosophy: create a resort that feels inseparable from the landscape itself.”

Bathhouse Adds Thermal Pools and Cold Plunges

The 9,600-square-foot Bathhouse brings together indoor and outdoor facilities, including vitality and hot pools, a mountain-facing infinity pool, a salt sauna, an aromatic steam room and glacial cold plunges.

A suspended meditation room and an Aurora sensory room provide quieter spaces within the wellness offering.

The adjoining 3,800-square-foot Active Centre has Technogym and Peloton equipment, climbing and bouldering walls, guided movement classes and recovery activities.

Beyond the resort, the Expeditions Centre offers more than 50 seasonal experiences. Options include privately guided hikes, forest bathing, alpine yoga, canyon ice walks, Indigenous cultural encounters and excursions to the Athabasca Glacier.

A team of guides, known as Pathfinders, helps guests plan activities around their interests.

Four Venues Explore Regional Food and Drink

Signature restaurant Parker’s Table focuses on seasonal Canadian cuisine, working with farmers, fishers and foragers.

Rimrock Social serves as the main gathering space, while The Listening Room pairs spirits and wines with vinyl records. Rimrock Market offers speciality coffee and provisions in an après-inspired setting.

Alpine honey runs through the resort’s food, drink and welcome experiences through a partnership with Alberta producer Highland Farm Honey. It features in an arrival cocktail, wellness tonics and a pine needle cake layered with honey ganache.

The resort also introduces an edition of the Emblems literary anthology, bringing together Indigenous perspectives, historical accounts and writing connected to Banff National Park.
