Marriott Signs Deal for Eight Hotels in the Netherlands

Marriott Signs Deal for Eight Hotels in the Netherlands

Marriott International has signed an agreement with Townhouse Hotels to add eight properties and more than 700 rooms to its Netherlands portfolio, introducing its Series by Marriott brand to the country.

Announced on 5 October 2026, the deal covers hotels in Amsterdam, Breda, The Hague, Maastricht and Eindhoven. Six properties are expected to join Series by Marriott, while two will become part of Tribute Portfolio.

The agreement is also expected to mark Marriott’s entry into Maastricht and Eindhoven. Affiliation dates have not been announced.

“These projects offer a mix of independent hospitality experiences across sought-after destinations, while also enabling our entry into Maastricht and Eindhoven,” said Jerome Briet, Chief Development Officer, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International.

“Together with Townhouse Hotels, we look forward to providing guests with even more compelling travel experiences across the Netherlands.”

Six Townhouse Hotels to Join Series by Marriott

Series by Marriott brings established regional hotel brands into Marriott’s wider portfolio while retaining their local identity. Its Dutch debut will include three hotels in Maastricht, alongside properties in Amsterdam, The Hague and Breda.

The six planned additions are:

  • Townhouse Amsterdam WTC: The 84-room Hotel Qbic WTC Amsterdam will be rebranded under the Townhouse name. It is located in the Zuidas business district.
  • Townhouse The Hague: An 88-room property serving visitors to the city’s government institutions, international organisations and cultural attractions.
  • Townhouse Maastricht: An 82-room hotel near the historic centre.
  • Townhouse Mabi Maastricht: A 55-room boutique property housed in a former cinema.
  • Townhouse Kaboom Maastricht: A 79-room hotel with a focus on bold, contemporary design.
  • Townhouse Breda: The 106-room Hotel Keyser will be rebranded, becoming the largest Series by Marriott property in the agreement.

Tribute Portfolio Adds Hotels in The Hague and Eindhoven

The Ald Hotel The Hague and Hotel Mariënhage Eindhoven are expected to join Tribute Portfolio, Marriott’s collection of independent hotels.

The Ald has 91 rooms in central The Hague. Hotel Mariënhage, with 134 rooms, occupies a former monastery complex and will establish Marriott’s presence in Eindhoven.

“With our boutique hotels The ALD and Mariënhage joining Tribute Portfolio, and all Townhouse Hotels joining Series by Marriott, we strengthen the foundation of the company and position it for sustainable growth in the years ahead,” said Joost Mees, Managing Partner of European Hotel Capital.

For Townhouse Hotels, the agreement opens access to Marriott’s international customer base while preserving the identities of its properties.

“Joining Marriott’s global platform opens the door to new guests, new markets and new opportunities, and marks the start of an ambitious next chapter,” said Rick de Jonge, CEO of Townhouse Hotels.

As of the second quarter of 2026, Marriott operated more than 30 properties across 12 brands in the Netherlands. The latest agreement will broaden that presence beyond its existing destinations and add another brand to its Dutch offering.
