Fairmont New Orleans is now accepting reservations for stays from 2 November 2026, when the 250-room hotel is scheduled to open in the city’s Central Business District. The launch will mark Fairmont’s return to New Orleans after two decades and become the Accor-owned brand’s 19th property in the United States.
Developed by Kailas Companies, the hotel occupies 17 floors of the former Bank of New Orleans building, a 31-storey landmark designed in 1970 by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.
The property will feature restaurants and bars developed with Chef Emeril Lagasse and his team, a rooftop pool, a 10,000-square-foot spa and more than 19,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
A Former Bank Reimagined by Rockwell Group
Rockwell Group designed the interiors around the contrasts between New Orleans’ architecture and natural landscape, combining structured lines with bold colours, layered textures and organic details.
A central lobby bar will serve as a gathering point for guests and local residents, while the accommodation includes 250 rooms and suites alongside Fairmont Gold, the brand’s hotel-within-a-hotel offering.
The building’s banking heritage remains visible in the grand ballroom, which retains a ceiling of local cypress wood. Italian-inspired chandeliers reference the building’s 1970s origins, while meeting spaces incorporate walnut, velvet and wallcoverings inspired by Spanish moss.
“At Kailas Companies, our passion lies in the careful preservation of historic landmark buildings while seamlessly introducing modern, world-class luxury,” said C. Mohan Kailas, Chief Executive Officer of Kailas Companies.
“Above all, we are most excited about sharing this spectacular hotel with our community.”
Emeril Lagasse Partnership and Rooftop Venues
The hotel’s dining plans include Delmonico Steakhouse, a lobby-level restaurant with interiors inspired by the 1970s, created in partnership with Emeril Lagasse.
“We are especially proud to honor our city’s rich culinary legacy by partnering with beloved local icon Chef Emeril Lagasse to bring the sophisticated, 1970s decor-inspired Delmonico Steakhouse to our lobby,” said Eric Overstreet, General Manager of Fairmont New Orleans.
On the rooftop, guests will find the Third Measure bar and Bleu Perdu poolside lounge. Fairmont describes the rooftop pool and lounge as the highest in New Orleans, with views towards the Mississippi River.
Wellness facilities will include a spa with three treatment rooms and a couples suite, alongside a dry sauna, steam room and fitness studio.
Event Spaces for Up to 500 Guests
Fairmont New Orleans will accommodate meetings, weddings and social gatherings ranging from 10 to 500 guests.
Facilities include two 4,000-square-foot ballrooms with dedicated foyer space on the second floor, six meeting rooms and an executive boardroom. The former bank interiors provide the setting for the grand ballroom.
Reservations are available for stays beginning 2 November. The hotel will also participate in ALL Accor, allowing members to earn points during their stay.
