IHG Signs Three-Hotel Deal With Harilela Group to Expand Vignette Collection

IHG Signs Three-Hotel Deal With Harilela Group to Expand Vignette Collection

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a three-hotel portfolio agreement with Harilela Group that will bring The Hari hotels in London, Hong Kong and Singapore into its luxury Vignette Collection brand.

Under the franchise agreement, the 85-room The Hari London and 210-room The Hari Hong Kong will join Vignette Collection in 2026. In Singapore, the existing Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre will undergo a major conversion before reopening as The Hari Singapore, Vignette Collection in 2027.

The deal will mark Vignette Collection’s debut in Singapore while expanding the brand’s existing presence in London and Hong Kong.

IHG and Harilela Group Expand 50-Year Partnership

The agreement builds on a relationship between IHG and Hong Kong-based Harilela Group spanning more than five decades.

Following the addition of the three The Hari properties, the companies will collaborate across six hotels.

Their existing partnership includes Holiday Inn Golden Mile in Hong Kong, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, as well as Holiday Inn Express Changzhou Center and Holiday Inn Bangkok Silom.

Rajit Sukumaran, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, East Asia & Pacific at IHG, said:

“It is a privilege to celebrate more than five decades of partnership with Harilela Group. Since opening Holiday Inn Golden Mile over 50 years ago, we have built a relationship founded on trust, shared ambition and a commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality.

“Today’s announcement reaches an exciting new milestone as we extend our portfolio to six hotels in five world class travel destinations, a testament to what we have achieved together.

“This landmark agreement introduces Vignette Collection to one of the world’s most strategically important gateway cities and expands its presence in both London and Hong Kong. The Hari Hotels are renowned for their distinctive and understated luxury stays, making them a natural fit for Vignette Collection. We look forward to welcoming guests to these unique hotels when they open.”

The Hari Singapore to Replace Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre

The largest project included in the agreement is the transformation of the 324-room Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre into The Hari Singapore, Vignette Collection.

The existing hotel opened in 1985 and is currently IHG’s longest-operating property in Singapore.

The Hari Singapore Scheduled to Open in 2027

The property is undergoing a significant redesign led by British designer Tara Bernerd, who also worked on The Hari London and The Hari Hong Kong.

Located in Singapore’s Orchard Road district and close to the historic Emerald Hill precinct, the hotel is positioned in one of the city’s main retail and tourism areas.

Its location also provides connections to Marina Bay, the Civic District and Changi Airport.

Following the conversion, the hotel is scheduled to welcome guests as The Hari Singapore, Vignette Collection in 2027, marking the Vignette Collection brand’s first property in the country.

The Hari London Joins Vignette Collection

The 85-room The Hari London will join Vignette Collection during 2026.

Located in Belgravia, the hotel offers a residential-style luxury experience close to several of London’s best-known shopping and leisure districts.

Knightsbridge, Sloane Street and Hyde Park are all nearby, placing the property within easy reach of luxury retail, restaurants and major visitor attractions.

The Hari London will retain its individual identity while gaining access to IHG’s global distribution network and loyalty ecosystem through its membership of Vignette Collection.

The Hari Hong Kong Adds 210 Rooms to IHG’s Luxury Portfolio

The agreement also covers the 210-room The Hari Hong Kong, located in Wan Chai between Causeway Bay and Admiralty.

The location places the hotel between Hong Kong’s major commercial areas and several of its principal shopping, dining and waterfront districts.

The Hari Hong Kong will also join Vignette Collection during 2026, strengthening IHG’s luxury and lifestyle presence in the city.

Dr. Aron Harilela, Chairman and CEO of Harilela Group, said:

“We have a clear and ambitious vision for The Hari brand with plans to expand its footprint in major international destinations. The Hari Hotels embody a relaxed elegance punctuated by eccentricity, wit, culture and genuine heartfelt hospitality.

“Bringing our three The Hari Hotels into Vignette Collection provides a unified brand partnership opportunity, and a powerful platform for growth, combining the hotel’s individuality with the scale, global reach and commercial strength of IHG. We are confident that this partnership will further elevate the guest experience, while driving strong performance and long-term value for our hotels.”

Vignette Collection Grows Beyond 80 Open and Pipeline Hotels

IHG launched Vignette Collection as a luxury and lifestyle collection designed to allow independently operated hotels to maintain their individual identities while benefiting from IHG’s wider commercial infrastructure.

The brand now has more than 80 open and pipeline hotels worldwide and is tracking ahead of its target of reaching more than 100 properties within its first decade.

Vignette Collection hotels are also built around two brand elements known as Memorable Rituals and A Means For Good, which focus on individual guest experiences and community initiatives.

IHG said The Hari’s existing activities, including The Hari Art Prize, align with this approach.

Vignette Collection Continues Global Expansion

Recent additions to the brand include The One Shanghai Downtown, Vignette Collection, Palm Springs Hotel Chengdu, Vignette Collection, and CIEL Dubai Marina, Vignette Collection, which IHG describes as the world’s tallest hotel.

Upcoming properties include Mangala Estate Kuantan, Vignette Collection and Vaagali Maldives, Vignette Collection.

The addition of The Hari portfolio gives IHG another route to expand its luxury and lifestyle business through conversions and partnerships with established independent hotel owners.

For Harilela Group, the agreement provides The Hari with access to IHG’s global distribution and commercial infrastructure while allowing the individual hotels to retain the character and identity of The Hari brand.
