Anantara Hotels & Resorts is marking the final stage of its 25th anniversary celebrations with a series of Christmas and New Year experiences across its European portfolio.
Eight properties in Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Spain, Hungary, France and Ireland are taking part, combining local festive traditions with special dining, wellness and cultural programmes.
The celebrations range from a Christmas market inside a 13th-century former convent on the Amalfi Coast to a Nutcracker-inspired collaboration with the Rome Opera and New Year’s Eve rooftop events in several European capitals.
Christmas inside a 13th-century Amalfi convent
At Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel, Christmas celebrations will take place within the property’s historic cloisters.
The former Capuchin convent will host a Christmas market featuring local artisans, followed by a candlelight event with live music, hot chocolate and gatherings around a firepit.
The convent’s church will also host a Christmas concert performed by the Minori Band.
Anantara Spa is introducing a seasonal candlelight treatment using natural candle wax that melts into massage oil, while Ristorante Dei Cappuccini will offer special Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve menus.
Amsterdam hotel launches first New Year’s Eve countdown
Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam is opening its public spaces for a dedicated New Year’s Eve countdown for the first time.
The hotel’s lobby will become part of the celebrations, with live DJs and temporary bars accompanying the countdown to 2027.
Christmas activities will include handcrafted advent calendars and chocolate decorations from The Cake Room, while festive dining will be offered at Michelin-starred The White Room and beneath the 19th-century glass roof of the Wintergarden.
Vienna combines Christmas markets with festive dining
At Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna, three packages have been developed around Vienna’s winter season.
The Festive Midweek Escape combines visits to the city’s Christmas markets with afternoon tea, mulled wine and other seasonal drinks back at the hotel.
Christmas guests can choose a six-course dinner at Brasserie Sophie, while New Year’s Eve options include a gala dinner or an eight-course tasting menu at Michelin-starred EDVARD.
Marbella adds anniversary wellness programme
Anantara’s anniversary celebrations continue on Spain’s Costa del Sol at Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Benahavís Marbella Resort.
The property has created a Silver Glow Ritual combining Asian and European wellness influences as part of the anniversary programme.
Guests can also participate in seasonal food workshops and meet artisans responsible for some of the ceramics used throughout the resort.
Christmas Day includes brunch at La Pérgola, while 99 Sushi Bar will host the resort’s New Year’s Eve dining programme.
Anantara partners with Rome Opera for The Nutcracker
One of the more unusual programmes is taking place at Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome, which has partnered with Teatro dell’Opera di Roma for a festive season inspired by The Nutcracker.
Elements associated with the opera house’s creative spaces will be incorporated into the hotel’s seasonal design.
Children will be able to create edible decorations during a Nutcracker-inspired culinary workshop before adding them to the hotel’s Christmas tree. A Christmas treasure hunt will also take place in the property’s gardens.
For New Year’s Eve, SEEN by Olivier will host a rooftop celebration overlooking Piazza della Repubblica and the city’s fireworks.
Budapest, Nice and Dublin complete the European programme
At Anantara New York Palace Budapest, the festive programme combines Hungarian Christmas traditions with experiences around the city.
Guests can try seasonal pastries including Flódni and Beigli, while selected packages include limousine transfers to the Vörösmarty Square Christmas Market. White Salon will host the hotel’s New Year’s Eve gala.
On the French Riviera, Anantara Plaza Nice Hotel will offer New Year’s Eve dining at rooftop restaurant SEEN by Olivier, overlooking the Bay of Angels. Les Colonnades will serve a festive afternoon tea created by pastry chef Philippe Tayac, alongside seasonal treatments at Anantara Spa.
In Ireland, Anantara The Marker Dublin Hotel will serve Christmas and New Year’s Eve tasting menus at Forbes Street by Gareth Mullins.
The Dublin property is also continuing its Poetry & Places afternoon tea, inspired by the city’s literary heritage, before ending the year with a rooftop countdown overlooking the Dublin skyline.
Anantara concludes its 25th anniversary year
The European festive programme brings Anantara’s 25th anniversary year to a close while highlighting the brand’s growing presence across the continent.
Rather than using a single Christmas concept across the portfolio, the participating hotels have built their programmes around local traditions, architecture, food and cultural institutions.
The result ranges from Christmas markets and classical music in Amalfi and Vienna to Hungarian pastries in Budapest, Mediterranean celebrations in Marbella and Nice, and literary influences in Dublin.
The Christmas and New Year’s Eve programmes will run throughout the 2026 festive season, culminating with celebrations welcoming 2027 across Anantara’s European properties.
