Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort has been named Best Family Resort at the Travel Trade Maldives Awards 2026, securing its third consecutive win at the annual hospitality awards.
The Baa Atoll property previously received the Best Dive Resort award in 2024 and was named Best Beach Resort in 2025.
This year’s TTM Awards & Gala took place at CROSSROADS Maldives on August 27, concluding the tenth edition of TTM Maldives and recognising hotels and resorts across 32 categories.
Third Consecutive TTM Award for Avani+ Fares Maldives
The latest award shifts the focus to the resort’s family offering, which includes accommodation for larger groups, dedicated facilities for children and teenagers and a range of activities designed for different age groups.
“This award is a testament to the team’s commitment to creating holidays that work for every member of the family,” said Judd Rabbidge, General Manager of Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort.
“From purpose-built spaces for children and teenagers to flexible accommodation and experiences families can enjoy together, we want parents to feel that their time away is as effortless as it is rewarding.”
Rabbidge described receiving a third consecutive TTM Award as an important achievement for the resort’s team.
176 Villas, Pavilions and Residences in Baa Atoll
Avani+ Fares Maldives is located within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll and offers 176 accommodation options.
The inventory includes pavilions, beach villas, overwater villas and larger residences.
Families and groups can choose from interconnecting Pavilion rooms and Beach Pool Villas through to two and three-bedroom Over Water Pool Residences.
The larger residences include private pools and shared living areas, providing additional space for multigenerational families or groups travelling together.
Kids Club Includes Splash Park, Pirate Ship and Zipline
The resort’s AvaniKids programme is available for children aged two and above.
Facilities include indoor play areas and arts and crafts spaces alongside a splash park, pirate ship and zipline.
Families also receive two hours of complimentary supervised babysitting per day for children between the ages of two and 11.
Teenagers have a separate 24-hour Teens Club featuring gaming stations, karaoke, movies and social spaces.
The resort also operates Petit Bistro, a dedicated children’s restaurant where younger guests can eat independently and participate in interactive cooking activities.
Family Activities Range from Snorkelling to Football Camps
Activities available across the island include snorkelling on the house reef, diving, sunset fishing, water sports, wellness activities and beach games.
Avani+ Fares also hosts specialist family programmes during selected periods of the year.
Former England footballer Michael Owen’s Kids’ Football Camp is scheduled to return for its third edition from October 14 to 17, 2026.
The programme adds another organised activity to the resort’s family offering during the October travel period.
Avani Expands Its Resort Portfolio
Avani Hotels & Resorts launched in 2011 and now has more than 40 properties across five continents, spanning city hotels, beach resorts and nature-focused retreats.
The brand is part of Minor Hotels, with Avani guests participating in Minor DISCOVERY, which forms part of the wider GHA DISCOVERY loyalty programme.
For Avani+ Fares Maldives, the 2026 award follows recognition for two different parts of its resort experience over the previous two years: diving in 2024 and its beach offering in 2025.
The latest Best Family Resort title gives the Baa Atoll property three consecutive TTM Awards across three separate categories.
