Renfe will operate 1,130 replacement bus services to maintain passenger mobility during infrastructure works carried out by Adif on the conventional rail line between Torrellano and Crevillent.
The works, aimed at improving the operational capacity, functionality and reliability of the railway network, will require a full suspension of rail traffic on the affected section from 06:00 on 17 August until 23:30 on 25 August.
More Than 61,000 Seats on Replacement Buses
To minimise disruption, Renfe will provide approximately 61,800 seats across its replacement road transport services for Cercanías, Media Distancia and Long Distance passengers.
Cercanías Line C1
The largest operation will support passengers travelling on the C1 Cercanías line between Alicante Terminal and Murcia del Carmen.
Renfe will provide around 56,000 bus seats, with replacement services operating between:
- Alicante Terminal and Crevillent
- Alicante Terminal and Callosa de Segura
Passengers will transfer between trains and buses during the infrastructure closure.
Regional Services Also Affected
Media Distancia services operating between Valencia, Murcia and Cartagena will also be partially replaced by buses.
Road transport will operate on the following sections:
- Alicante Terminal – Crevillent
- Elche – Alicante Terminal
Renfe has allocated more than 4,000 seats for these replacement services.
Intercity Trains Replaced Between Valencia and Murcia
The Intercity Long Distance service linking Valencia and Cartagena will also be affected.
During the engineering works, the rail service between Valencia and Murcia will be replaced entirely by buses, with approximately 2,000 seats available for passengers.
Enhanced Passenger Information
Renfe said it has strengthened its customer service and communication channels to keep passengers informed about the temporary transport arrangements and alternative travel options throughout the infrastructure improvement works.
