Grand Hyatt to Debut in Cancun with 500-Room All-Inclusive Beach Resort

Hyatt is preparing to open its first Grand Hyatt hotel in Cancun, with the 500-room Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort scheduled to welcome guests in December 2026.

Located in Puerto Cancun, the beachfront property will operate as a fully all-inclusive resort, combining accommodation, dining, wellness, entertainment and extensive meetings facilities.

The resort is owned by Grupo Diestra and will become one of the latest major hospitality developments within Puerto Cancun, a private waterfront community incorporating a marina, golf, shopping and dining.

Cancun International Airport is approximately 25 minutes from the property, while the city’s Hotel Zone and other major attractions are also within easy reach.

500 rooms and suites overlooking the ocean and marina

Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort will offer 500 guestrooms, including 47 suites.

Every room will feature a private terrace with views of either the ocean or marina, while selected suites will include private pools.

Grand Club rooms will provide access to a dedicated Grand Club lounge offering continental breakfast, afternoon cocktails and additional services.

The resort’s design incorporates work by artists including Teresa Solar, whose installation will welcome guests at the entrance, and Mexican artist and designer María Pizarro, whose tiles will feature throughout the property.

14 restaurants and bars planned

Food and beverage will be a major part of the resort’s all-inclusive concept, with 14 dining and drinking venues planned.

Among them will be Quattro, serving Northern Italian cuisine, and Fiera San, a sushi and omakase restaurant.

Bistrot Cigalette will offer French cuisine from chef Thierry Blouet, while Chacho and Los Fuegos del Sur will draw inspiration from Argentine and Uruguayan cooking.

Other venues will include Kaab, Mona Limona, Leonora’s Boulevardier Bar & Terraza, Saká pool bar, Grand Café & Market, Fiera Tacos and Paradiso.

The mix is intended to range from casual daytime and poolside dining to more formal evening restaurants and cocktail venues.

Nine pools and private Beach Club

The new Grand Hyatt will feature nine multi-level outdoor swimming pools, including an adults-only pool, infinity pool and a separate pool at its private Beach Club.

The Beach Club will have its own restaurant and provide access to activities including snorkelling, diving, kayaking, windsurfing and paddleboarding.

Guests will also be able to arrange sailing and yacht experiences from the nearby Puerto Cancun marina, as well as excursions to coral reefs, cenotes and archaeological sites.

Families will have access to a dedicated Grand Kids Club.

Ritua Sanctuary Spa to include traditional temazcal

Wellness facilities will centre around the resort’s Ritua Sanctuary Spa.

The spa will combine treatment facilities with outdoor relaxation areas and a traditional temazcal, drawing on local wellness traditions.

A fitness centre and hammock relaxation areas will also form part of the wellness offering.

“Guests can immerse themselves in Puerto Cancun, with its vibrant marina, white-sand beaches and privileged location, while enjoying beautifully designed rooms and suites alongside the culinary, wellness and entertainment experiences they expect from a Hyatt resort,” said Omar Vázquez, General Manager of Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort.

Nearly 30,000 square feet of event space

Hyatt is also targeting the meetings, incentives and events market with approximately 30,000 square feet of indoor event space located on a single level.

The facilities will include a Great Ballroom capable of being divided into eight sections, two breakout rooms and a boardroom.

Outdoor events will also be possible across terraces, beachfront areas and poolside venues.

The combination will allow the resort to accommodate corporate meetings as well as weddings and larger celebrations.

With its December opening, Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort will bring the Grand Hyatt brand into one of Mexico’s largest international tourism markets while also expanding Hyatt’s already significant presence in the all-inclusive resort sector.
