Emirates will introduce its Premium Economy cabin on two of its three daily flights between Mauritius and Dubai from September 1, 2026, expanding the range of cabin options available on the route.
Premium Economy will be offered on flights EK703/704, operated by an Airbus A380, and EK709/710, operated by a retrofitted Boeing 777.
Both aircraft will operate with three cabin classes, giving passengers travelling between Mauritius and Dubai a choice of Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class.
The introduction also allows Mauritius-based passengers to connect through Dubai to a growing number of destinations where Emirates now offers Premium Economy.
A380 and Boeing 777 to Feature Premium Economy
The A380 operating flights EK703/704 will be configured with 76 Business Class seats, 56 Premium Economy seats and 437 Economy Class seats.
The retrofitted Boeing 777 on EK709/710 will offer 38 seats in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy and 214 in Economy.
“Mauritius has always been an important market for Emirates, and the introduction of Premium Economy on the route is another demonstration of our continued commitment to our Mauritian customers as well as the nation’s travel and tourism industry,” said Oomar Ramtoola, Emirates’ Manager for the Indian Ocean Islands.
Ramtoola said the cabin is designed to provide an additional option for passengers seeking more space, comfort and privacy on longer journeys.
“With the steady roll out of Emirates’ Premium Economy, the enhanced offering is now available on an extensive network of routes, so our customers from Mauritius will be glad to know they can enjoy the signature experience to Dubai and onwards to 70 destinations in Europe, Asia and the Americas,” he added.
Premium Economy Connections Available to 70 Destinations
Emirates has been gradually expanding Premium Economy across its international network as more A380s and Boeing 777s complete the airline’s cabin retrofit programme.
Passengers originating in Mauritius will be able to travel in Premium Economy through Dubai to around 70 destinations.
Among the connecting options are selected flights to Bangkok and all six of Emirates’ daily services between Dubai and London Heathrow, allowing passengers to remain in Premium Economy throughout their journey.
What Emirates Premium Economy Offers
Emirates’ Premium Economy seats are 19.5 inches wide and offer additional legroom and recline compared with Economy Class.
Each seat includes a six-way adjustable headrest, footrest, charging points, a wood-finished side cocktail table and a 13.3-inch personal entertainment screen.
The airline has also developed a separate food and beverage service for the cabin. Passengers receive a welcome drink served in glassware, followed by meals featuring seasonal ingredients and presented on Royal Doulton china.
An expanded beverage selection is also available.
Passengers receive amenity kits, blankets and larger pillows designed specifically for Premium Economy. Other benefits include priority boarding and access to dedicated Premium Economy check-in facilities at Dubai International Airport.
Emirates Continues Investment in Mauritius
Emirates has served Mauritius since 2002 and currently operates three daily flights between the island and Dubai.
The deployment of aircraft featuring the airline’s newer cabins forms part of its continued investment in the Mauritian market, which also plays an important role in Emirates’ leisure network.
The airline has promoted Mauritius as a holiday destination across its global network while providing the island with connections through Dubai to markets in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.
Premium Economy tickets for flights from Mauritius are available for travel from September 1 through Emirates’ booking channels and travel agents.
