Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has officially entered the Thai market with the opening of Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit, a new 474-room luxury hotel in the heart of Bangkok.
Developed in partnership with Asset World Corp Public Company Limited (AWC), the property features 416 guestrooms and 58 suites, alongside seven dining and entertainment venues, extensive wellness facilities and more than 2,000 square metres of meeting and event space.
The opening marks another step in Fairmont’s expansion across Asia, following recent debuts in Tokyo and Hanoi.
“Thailand’s gracious hospitality, rich cultural heritage and deep-rooted appreciation for connection make it a natural home for Fairmont,” said Omer Acar, CEO of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
“Representing a pivotal step in Fairmont’s strategic expansion across Asia, this landmark property follows the much-anticipated debuts of both Fairmont Hanoi and Fairmont Tokyo.”
Thai influences shape the hotel’s design
Located in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit district, Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit was designed by Thai architecture and interior design practice PIA, with the concept drawing heavily on the country’s botanical heritage.
Floral elements appear throughout the hotel, including a large lobby chandelier inspired by the ratchaphruek, Thailand’s national flower. The installation consists of 4,166 glass pieces and more than 35,000 crystal balls.
The botanical theme continues through artworks, sculptural elements, guestrooms and public spaces, while the overall design combines residential-style interiors with larger social spaces intended for gatherings and events.
Seven dining and entertainment venues
Food and beverage will form a significant part of the new hotel’s offering, with seven concepts scheduled to open progressively throughout 2026.
Harper’s combines elements of a North American-French brasserie with influences from Paris and New York, while AELA Social Bar operates as a lounge during the day before transitioning into a cocktail bar in the evening.
CAYA Pool Club focuses on contemporary interpretations of Thai street food and cocktails, taking inspiration from Bangkok’s night markets.
Another major addition will arrive in mid-September with the opening of Wiggle Room, an entertainment and supper club located beneath the hotel with its own entrance on Sukhumvit Soi 18.
The venue will combine live music, cabaret-inspired performances, cocktails and dining around a dedicated performance stage.
Two additional restaurants are scheduled to open on the hotel’s upper floors in December 2026. One will combine Italian and Japanese influences, while the other will focus on contemporary Thai cuisine. The hotel’s rooftop on level 33 will provide panoramic views across Bangkok.
Fairmont expands its wellness concept in Bangkok
Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit also introduces the brand’s “Wellness Without Walls” concept, designed to incorporate wellbeing throughout the guest experience rather than limiting it to traditional spa facilities.
Fairmont Spa takes inspiration from jasmine, a flower associated with hospitality and purity in Thailand, and offers a range of restorative treatments.
The hotel’s Fairmont Studio provides dedicated areas for yoga, cardio and strength training, while the Fairmont Fit programme is designed to help travellers maintain their regular fitness routines during their stay.
“We are delighted to welcome guests as we prepare to introduce Fairmont to Thailand for the first time,” said Jerome Lobier, General Manager of Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit.
“Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit is a place shaped by the energy of Bangkok and the spirit of Sukhumvit, where international travelers and the local community can come together to connect, celebrate and experience the very best of the city.”
More than 2,000 square metres of event space
The property is also targeting Bangkok’s meetings, events and wedding market, offering more than 21,500 square feet, or approximately 2,000 square metres, of flexible event space spread across three floors.
Its centrepiece is the Signature Grand Ballroom, featuring a 12-metre-high ceiling and a dedicated arrival forecourt.
A second ballroom, seven breakout rooms, Couture Hall and several additional meeting spaces are available for conferences, corporate events, product launches, weddings and private celebrations.
The opening strengthens AWC’s partnership with Accor while adding another international luxury brand to its Thai hospitality portfolio.
“Welcoming Fairmont to Thailand for the first time marks a significant milestone for Asset World Corp and its long-standing partnership with Accor,” said Wallapa Traisorat, Chief Executive Officer and President of AWC.
“Designed to connect travelers, businesses, and local communities, the hotel further strengthens Bangkok’s position as a leading global destination.”
Fairmont Gold, family stays and pet-friendly rooms
The hotel is designed for both business and leisure travellers, including families. A Kids Club provides dedicated activities for younger guests, while pets weighing up to 30 kilograms are also accepted with pet-friendly amenities available.
Guests booking Fairmont Gold receive access to the brand’s premium “hotel within a hotel” concept, including a dedicated reception, private lounge, food and beverage service throughout the day and a dedicated concierge team.
Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit has also been designed to meet LEED Gold standards. Sustainability features include water recycling, smart energy systems, EV charging, improved indoor air quality, biophilic design and a façade designed to reduce heat.
Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit opened for stays on August 18, 2026, and participates in Accor’s ALL loyalty programme.
