IHG Hotels & Resorts will introduce its Noted Collection brand to Japan with two Tokyo hotels scheduled to open in 2027 and 2029.
The agreements cover a 207-room conversion in Shinjuku and an 81-room new-build property in Ginza, signed with separate owners. Together, they mark the Japanese debut of IHG’s newest premium hotel collection.
Shinjuku Hotel to Open in 2027
The first property, signed with SC Capital Partners, is in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho district, close to Golden Gai and the neighbourhood’s shopping, dining and entertainment venues.
The existing hotel will undergo renovation and rebranding before opening under Noted Collection in 2027. Plans include a lobby linked to the restaurant and café, creating a shared space for guests to meet and relax.
SC Capital Partners acquired the property through its Japan Hospitality Fund. Daisuke Hiramoto, the company’s Managing Director and Head of Japan, said the partnership would help improve the guest experience while preserving the hotel’s individual character.
Ginza New-Build Scheduled for 2029
The second agreement, with An Consulting, covers an 81-room hotel in Ginza 8-chome. Scheduled to open in 2029, it will be Japan’s first newly built Noted Collection property and IHG’s first hotel in Ginza.
The site is within walking distance of Shimbashi and Ginza stations, providing access to the area’s luxury shops, restaurants and cultural attractions.
Planned facilities include family-friendly suites, a restaurant and bar, and a fitness centre. The design will draw on the character of the surrounding neighbourhood.
Amane Kotani, Representative Director of An Consulting, said the hotel would serve both domestic and international travellers.
Noted Collection Expands Its International Pipeline
Launched earlier in 2026 as IHG’s 21st brand, Noted Collection is designed for hotels that retain their own identity while joining the group’s commercial network and IHG One Rewards loyalty programme.
Abhijay Sandilya, IHG’s Managing Director for Japan and Micronesia and CEO of IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan, said the two signings reflected opportunities in Japan’s premium hotel market. He highlighted owner demand for brands that combine operational support and international reach with flexibility over each property’s character.
The Tokyo projects join a developing international portfolio that includes Theobalds Estate in the UK and Cantonal Hotel Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.
