Marriott International has opened Moxy Niseko Village, a 310-room hotel offering direct ski-in/ski-out access in one of Japan’s best-known winter sports destinations.
Located next to the Niseko Village Gondola at the base of Mount Niseko Annupuri in Hokkaido, the property marks Moxy Hotels’ first entry into Japan’s alpine resort market and becomes the brand’s fifth hotel in the country.
The hotel combines Moxy’s social-focused concept with access to Niseko’s skiing during winter and outdoor activities including hiking, cycling and golf during the warmer months.
310 Rooms in the Heart of Niseko Village
Moxy Niseko Village features 310 guestrooms designed around the brand’s compact and functional approach to accommodation.
The hotel’s interiors take inspiration from Hokkaido’s natural environment while incorporating Japanese craft, pop culture and Kawaii-inspired design elements.
Traditional references are combined with contemporary artwork and nostalgic objects linked to Japanese culture and Niseko’s mountain surroundings.

Moxy Bar, Outdoor Foot Onsen and 24-Hour Gym
As with other Moxy properties, communal spaces form a central part of the hotel’s concept.
Moxy Bar serves as the main social hub and also incorporates the hotel’s check-in experience, allowing arriving guests to check in while using the bar and lounge.
Moxy Bar & Cafe provides breakfast alongside food and drinks throughout the day, while Moxy Grab & Go offers snacks and beverages for guests heading out to explore the resort.
The property also features a 24-hour Moxy Gym and an outdoor foot onsen where guests can relax after skiing or other outdoor activities.
Direct Access to Niseko Skiing
The hotel’s location within Niseko Village gives guests direct access to the resort’s ski terrain.
Moxy Niseko Village is positioned adjacent to the Niseko Village Gondola, allowing guests to move directly between the hotel and the slopes.
The opening also comes ahead of the launch of a new eight-person gondola scheduled for December 2026.
According to Marriott, the new lift will double uplift capacity and improve access to more than 30 kilometres of ski terrain.
Guests are also within walking distance of Niseko-yo, a nearby dining and lifestyle area with restaurants and other amenities.
Moxy Targets Niseko’s Year-Round Tourism Market
While Niseko is internationally known for its powder snow and winter sports, Marriott is positioning the property as a year-round mountain hotel.
During Hokkaido’s green season, visitors can use Niseko Village as a base for hiking, cycling, golf and other outdoor activities.
The hotel is approximately two hours from New Chitose International Airport. JR Niseko Station is around 10 minutes away, while JR Kutchan Station can be reached in approximately 20 minutes.

Moxy Expands in Japan
Moxy Niseko Village becomes the fifth Moxy Hotels location in Japan, joining existing properties in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto.
The opening also expands Marriott Bonvoy’s presence in Niseko, one of Asia’s most prominent luxury and international ski destinations.
With the new property, Moxy is extending its urban lifestyle hotel model into a resort environment for the first time in Japan.
