Jet2 has hosted its first large-scale tourism summit in Greece, bringing together the country’s Minister of Tourism, regional governors, mayors, airport stakeholders, and hoteliers for a day of presentations and strategic discussions focused on the growth of Greek tourism.
The event, titled “A Partnership for Growth,” was held in Athens and marks the first time a UK tour operator has hosted an event of this scale in Greece. CEO Steve Heapy addressed delegates alongside Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni, sharing customer insights and market intelligence while exploring opportunities for deeper co-marketing collaboration.
The summit comes as Jet2 prepares for its biggest ever summer programme to Greece, operating to 16 airport gateways and 28 destinations, including new additions for 2026 such as Samos, Meganisi, and the Olympus Riviera. Greece has become Jet2’s second-largest destination, with capacity growing 37% since 2023, making it the company’s fastest-growing market. Jet2 now operates 134 routes between the UK and Greece, making it the UK’s leading operator to the country in 2026.
“By bringing together national and regional leaders, industry partners and our own senior team, we have been able to share insight, discuss future opportunities and build on the strong relationships that underpin our continued growth in Greece,” said Steve Heapy.
Minister Kefalogianni called the UK one of Greece’s most important source markets and described the partnership with Jet2 as a model for how strong industry collaboration can deliver value for destinations, businesses, and travelers alike.
