World Travel Awards Caribbean and The Americas Will Take Place in Saint Lucia

World Travel Awards revealed at ITB Berlin, that Saint Lucia will be hosting its Caribbean & The Americas Gala ceremony 2023.

On 26 August 2023, the red-carpet event will be attended by the top travel industry figures from the region.

The VIP evening will be held at Sandals Grande St. Lucian. It forms the culmination of World Travel Week 2023. This week-long celebration of global travel and tourism features a series events that bring together thought-leaders from the sector and stimulate debate about key issues. On the eve the World Travel Awards winners' ceremonies, there will be a President's reception.

Graham Cooke, Founder of World Travel Awards mentions: "I am honoured to unveil Saint Lucia as the host of our Caribbean & Americas Gala Ceremony 2023, in this our landmark 30th anniversary. Saint Lucia is helping to spearhead the recovery of travel and tourism in the Caribbean, and I am delighted this captivating island will form a crucial part of our anniversary tour."

He also mentioned that: "World Travel Awards has maintained its position as the industry leader for the past 30 years, consistently proving its value as the global benchmark for recognising excellence in travel and tourism. I look forward to joining the most senior travel industry figureheads from across the Caribbean and The Americas for what promises to be a fabulous event, acknowledging those organisations spearheading the growth of the region's travel and tourism sector."

Saint Lucia, blessed by nature, is a place of incredible beauty. It boasts volcanic mountains rising from the blue sea, beautiful beaches, lush forests, and rich cultural heritage.

Saint Lucia's Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture & Information, Hon. Ernest Hilaire, said: "We are excited to host the prestigious World Travel Awards Caribbean & The Americas Gala Ceremony 2023 and join forces with the global travel and tourism industry to celebrate the 30th anniversary of World Travel Awards. The impact travel and tourism have on our island's economy cannot be overstated."

Lorine Charles-St. Jules, CEO of Saint Lucia Tourism Authority expressed excitement over the association with World Travel Awards. She said, "This will be an incredible boost to our tourism sector as we continue to aim for excellence in the hospitality industry. We are delighted to welcome leaders from across the world and to immerse them in the hospitality and culture of our stunningly beautiful island."

Saint Lucia will host a variety of activities and events in 2023, including the World Travel Awards.

1. Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival (5-7 May)

After a three year hiatus, the biggest music event in Caribbean will make a much-anticipated comeback. The headliners include Sting (17 times Grammy winner) and Shaggy (reggae icon), along with many other internationally-recognised artists. Tickets are now available.

2. Saint Lucia Carnival (12-19 July)

The Saint Lucia Carnival is a carnival that's been hailed as one of the most exciting in the Caribbean. It takes place in July and attracts more than 10,000 people.

3. Three Peaks Challenge

The Saint Lucia Three Peaks Challenge is a new initiative for 2023. It allows visitors to climb three mountains in their stay: Mount Gimie, Petit Piton, and Gros Piton.

4. Kabawe Krawl

You can meet locals and share stories with them on this new trail of bars (Kabawe, Creole for Rum Shack) that offers a chance to enjoy Saint Lucian hospitality. You can book a guided tour, or go out on your own to find the Kabawe Krawl sign.

5. Romance Summit

"Say Yes To Saint Lucia" is a Global Romance Summit that will take place later in the year. It allows agents to meet key partners such as villas, hotels, and wedding planners. A bridalwear fashion show, keynote speakers and a workshop on digital media strategy will be held.

6. Atlantic Rally Cruise

Annually, the Atlantic Rally Cruise (ARC), sees more than 100 boats sail from Las Palmas, Gran Canarias to cross Atlantic Ocean to Saint Lucia.
