Wizz Air Expands in Wrocław with New Aircraft and Six Additional Routes

Airlines & Airports

Wizz Air has announced a major expansion at Wrocław Airport, strengthening its presence in the region with a third Airbus A321neo to be based at the airport from June 2026. This move will add over 500,000 extra seats annually and launch six new routes, bringing the total number of Wizz Air destinations from Wrocław to 22 across 17 countries.

In addition to new connections to Gran Canaria, Catania, and Ohrid, the airline will also introduce direct flights to Reykjavik, Dortmund, and Varna. Frequencies will be increased on several popular routes, including Barcelona, Bari, Tirana, and Malaga.

Wizz Air began operating from Wrocław in 2006 and has since carried nearly 7 million passengers to and from the city. The addition of a third aircraft demonstrates the airline’s long-term commitment to the region, boosting connectivity, tourism, and employment.

From January to October 2025, Wizz Air operated over 50,000 flights to and from Poland, serving more than 11 million passengers – a nearly 20% increase compared to the same period in 2024 – and achieved a completion rate of 99.8%.

“Today marks another milestone for Wrocław and for Poland,” said József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air. “By adding a third aircraft, launching new routes, and increasing frequencies, we are bringing even more choice and low fares to passengers, while supporting local growth and job creation.”
