Pegasus and AirAsia Launch Istanbul–Kuala Lumpur Codeshare

Pegasus Airlines and AirAsia have launched a codeshare partnership connecting their networks through Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, allowing passengers to combine flights between Southeast Asia, Türkiye and Europe on a single ticket.

Announced on 2 September 2026, the agreement is the first codeshare in AirAsia’s history. Flights went on sale the same day through the airlines’ sales channels.

Kuala Lumpur Flights Available Through Pegasus

Pegasus passengers can now book the Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen–Kuala Lumpur service operated by AirAsia X, AirAsia’s long-haul airline, through Pegasus’ own channels.

The arrangement allows connections from Pegasus’ domestic and international network, with check-in and baggage handled through to the final destination.

AirAsia X has operated the Istanbul–Kuala Lumpur route four times a week since November 2025. The service is scheduled to increase to daily flights by February 2027.

“Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen is a natural connecting point between Europe and Asia,” said Güliz Öztürk, CEO of Pegasus Airlines.

“That AirAsia’s first-ever codeshare is with Pegasus Airlines is a source of pride: it reflects the network we have built from Istanbul over two decades, and a hub that continues to grow.”

Onward Connections to Europe and Türkiye

AirAsia passengers can connect at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen onto Pegasus services to destinations including London Stansted, Moscow Vnukovo, Zurich, Athens and Ankara.

The agreement marks the first time Pegasus’ network has been connected to Southeast Asia through a single-ticket arrangement.

“As AirAsia’s first-ever codeshare, this partnership marks a meaningful milestone in our 25th year and the next chapter in our evolution from a leading Asean low-cost carrier into a truly global travel network,” said Bo Lingam, Group CEO of AirAsia Group.

“By connecting our extensive network across Asia with Pegasus’ strong network from Istanbul, spanning 161 destinations across 57 countries, we are making Europe more accessible to our guests while creating a gateway for European travellers to discover Asean and beyond.”

Further Destinations Planned

The airlines intend to expand the partnership to additional destinations, using Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Kuala Lumpur as connecting points.

AirAsia’s wider network covers more than 140 destinations across Asia-Pacific, although the announcement did not specify which additional routes would join the codeshare or when they would become available.
