Lufthansa Adds Tokyo Narita Flights and Restores Nagoya Route for Summer 2027

Lufthansa Adds Tokyo Narita Flights and Restores Nagoya Route for Summer 2027

Lufthansa will resume flights between Frankfurt and Nagoya and introduce a daily Frankfurt–Tokyo Narita service for summer 2027, expanding its Japan network in response to stronger demand.

The seasonal routes will begin in late March and use Boeing 787-9 aircraft equipped with Lufthansa’s Allegris cabins. Tickets are now available to book.

SWISS will also increase its Japan offering, with up to seven weekly flights between Zurich and Tokyo Narita during the summer season.

Frankfurt–Nagoya Returns Three Times a Week

Lufthansa’s seasonal Nagoya service will start on 29 March 2027, with departures from Frankfurt on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Flight LH736 is scheduled to leave Frankfurt at 14:10 and arrive in Nagoya at 09:35 the following day. The return service, LH737, will depart Nagoya at 11:30 and reach Frankfurt at 18:30. All times are local.

The route serves an important Japanese manufacturing region. Nagoya and the surrounding Aichi Prefecture are major centres for the automotive industry, while the city also provides a starting point for leisure travel through central Japan.

Passengers departing Nagoya will be able to connect through Frankfurt to destinations across Europe and South America.

Daily Narita Flights Complement Haneda Services

The Frankfurt–Tokyo Narita route will launch on 28 March 2027 and operate daily during the summer schedule.

Outbound flight LH710 will depart Frankfurt at 13:45, arriving at Narita at 09:30 the following morning. Return flight LH711 will leave Narita at 11:20 and arrive in Frankfurt at 18:40, local time.

The additional Tokyo route will complement Lufthansa’s existing daily services to Haneda from both Frankfurt and Munich.

“Japan is a key market for the Lufthansa Group, and we are pleased to further strengthen our presence with additional capacity and the resumption of flights to Nagoya,” said Dieter Vranckx, Member of the Executive Board and Chief Commercial Officer of Lufthansa Group.

“Together with our expanded Tokyo services, these investments provide our customers with more travel options and support the continued diversification of our intercontinental network.”

Allegris Cabins on Both Routes

Lufthansa will deploy Boeing 787-9 aircraft on the Nagoya and Narita services, each configured with 287 seats: 28 in Business Class, 28 in Premium Economy and 231 in Economy.

Both routes will feature Allegris, the airline’s latest cabin product.

Across Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, SWISS and ITA Airways, the group’s summer 2027 Japan network will serve Tokyo Haneda, Tokyo Narita, Osaka and Nagoya. Its joint venture with ANA provides further booking options for travel to Japan and onward destinations.
