Three Hilton Brands Top Their Segments in J.D. Power’s 2026 Hotel Study

Hampton by Hilton, Tru by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton have ranked highest in their respective segments in the J.D. Power 2026 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Study. All three retained the top positions they held last year.

Hampton led the Upper Midscale segment for a second consecutive year, while Tru and Home2 Suites each secured a fourth consecutive win in their categories.

Now in its 30th year, the study draws on responses from more than 44,000 guests of branded hotels across North America, covering stays between May 2025 and May 2026.

Hampton leads the upper midscale segment

Hampton by Hilton took the highest guest satisfaction ranking in the Upper Midscale category. The brand has more than 3,000 hotels worldwide, serving both business and leisure travelers.

Its core offering includes complimentary hot breakfast, featuring the signature Hampton waffle, alongside its 100% Hampton Guarantee. The result gives Hampton its second consecutive year at the top of the segment.

Tru secures fourth consecutive midscale win

Tru by Hilton ranked highest in the Midscale segment for the fourth year running.

The brand focuses on affordability, modern guest rooms and shared social spaces. Its hotels are designed around a straightforward stay, with an emphasis on the essentials and communal areas where guests can spend time outside their rooms.

Home2 Suites ranks highest for extended stays

Home2 Suites by Hilton also recorded its fourth consecutive top ranking, leading the Upper Midscale/Midscale Extended Stay segment.

The brand caters to longer visits, including work trips, relocations and extended vacations. Suites feature in-suite kitchens and flexible living areas, while complimentary breakfast and pet-friendly accommodations round out the offering.

What the guest satisfaction study measures

The J.D. Power study assesses seven aspects of a hotel stay: guest room, food and beverage, hotel facility, hotel staff, hotel connectivity, value for price paid, and check-in/check-out.

Alexandra Jaritz, Hilton’s senior vice president and global category head for All Suites & Focused Service, said the results reflected the work of hotel teams and the trust guests place in the three brands. She highlighted dependable experiences as a priority for both business and leisure travelers.
