Radisson Hotel Group has expanded its Romanian portfolio with the opening of Radisson Blu Hotel, Sinaia Cota 1400, bringing the country’s first internationally branded five-star mountain hotel at this altitude to the Bucegi Mountains.
Housed in a landmark building originally constructed in 1939, the 68-room property combines contemporary alpine design with direct access to the cable car, ski slopes and year-round outdoor activities, positioning itself as a premium destination for leisure travellers, wellness escapes and corporate events.
Historic Mountain Landmark Reimagined
Located at Cota 1400 in Sinaia, the hotel sits beside the cable car connecting visitors to the Bucegi ski area and hiking trails, while remaining within easy reach of Bucharest.
Nearby attractions include Peleș Castle, Sinaia Monastery, the historic Casino of Sinaia, and the cable car leading to the Sphinx and Babele rock formations.

Alpine-Inspired Rooms and Dining
The hotel features 68 rooms and suites, including an 89-square-metre Presidential Suite, with interiors inspired by the surrounding mountain landscape.
Natural wood, stone finishes and warm earthy tones create a contemporary alpine atmosphere, while many rooms offer panoramic views of the Bucegi Mountains.
Dining is centred around COCON Restaurant, serving modern European cuisine with locally sourced ingredients, while TONIC Bar & Cigar Lounge offers cocktails, premium spirits and mountain views throughout the day.
A third venue, STUDIO 1400 Après Ski & Terrace, is scheduled to open later this year with casual dining, cocktails and live entertainment during the winter season.
Wellness and Ski Facilities
One of the hotel’s main attractions is the FORÊT KITSUNE Spa & Wellness, a 700-square-metre wellness centre inspired by Japanese spa traditions.
Facilities include indoor and outdoor heated pools, saunas, a hammam, steam room, saline room, treatment rooms and relaxation areas overlooking the mountains.
Guests also have access to a Technogym fitness centre with a retractable glass roof, while dedicated ski facilities provide heated lockers and drying systems for winter sports equipment.
Meetings and Events
The hotel also targets the meetings and events market with the SFINX Events Hall, accommodating up to 126 guests.
The venue features integrated audiovisual technology, a large LED display, natural daylight, high-speed Wi-Fi and flexible layouts suitable for conferences, private celebrations and corporate events.
General Manager Octavian Moldovan described the opening as an important milestone for Romanian hospitality.
