Hilton Expands Ireland Portfolio with DoubleTree Debut and New Hotel Openings

Hilton is continuing its expansion across Ireland with a series of hotel openings, new signings and brand debuts that will strengthen its presence in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The latest developments include the introduction of the DoubleTree by Hilton brand to the Republic of Ireland, the European debut of Home2 Suites by Hilton in Dublin and Hilton’s first hotel signing in Cork. Together, the projects are expected to create more than 150 new jobs, bringing the company’s Irish workforce to almost 1,000 employees.

DoubleTree by Hilton to Debut in the Republic of Ireland

Hilton has signed an agreement to convert a 156-room hotel in Ashbourne, County Meath, into DoubleTree by Hilton Ashbourne, marking the brand’s first hotel in the Republic of Ireland.

Scheduled to open in early 2027, the property will undergo a full refurbishment, including upgrades to guestrooms, restaurants, bars and public areas.

Located around 25 minutes from Dublin Airport, the hotel is expected to serve both business and leisure travellers while strengthening Hilton’s presence in the Greater Dublin area.

Home2 Suites Launches in Europe

Hilton recently opened Home2 Suites by Hilton Dublin City Centre, introducing the extended-stay brand to Europe for the first time.

The 290-suite property is located close to O’Connell Street and offers apartment-style accommodation designed for both short visits and longer stays.

The opening reflects growing demand for flexible accommodation that combines hotel services with residential-style amenities, particularly among business travellers and guests staying in the city for extended periods.

Hilton Signs First Hotel in Cork

Hilton has also announced Cork City Centre, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, its first hotel project in Cork.

Expected to open in 2027, the 103-room hotel will be developed in partnership with JMK Group on South Terrace and will feature standard guestrooms, extended-stay accommodation, a restaurant, bar and fitness centre.

The signing expands Hilton’s lifestyle portfolio while establishing the company in Ireland’s second-largest city.

Growth Continues Across Northern Ireland

Hilton is also adding new properties across Northern Ireland.

The company recently celebrated the first anniversary of The Marcus Portrush, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, which introduced the lifestyle brand to Northern Ireland. It has also signed DoubleTree by Hilton Belfast City Ten Square and DoubleTree by Hilton Derry-Londonderry, further expanding the DoubleTree portfolio in the region.

Looking ahead, Hilton plans to introduce another brand with the opening of Tempo by Hilton Belfast City Centre. Scheduled to become the first Tempo by Hilton hotel outside the United States, the 144-room property will mark the international debut of Hilton’s wellness-focused lifestyle brand.
