Qatar Airways wins four titles at the 2026 Skytrax awards, including the first World’s Best Onboard Wi-Fi award, and retains its five-star airline rating.
Qatar Airways has won four titles at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards in London, including the inaugural World’s Best Onboard Wi-Fi award. The airline also retained its five-star Skytrax Airline rating.
The results included a 13th win for World’s Best Business Class, a 14th for Best Airline in the Middle East and an eighth for World’s Best Business Class Lounge.
First Skytrax Award for Onboard Wi-Fi
Qatar Airways became the first recipient of the World’s Best Onboard Wi-Fi title, adding connectivity to its established recognition for premium cabins and lounges.
The airline says it operates the world’s largest Starlink-equipped widebody fleet. According to its figures, more than 25 million passengers have used the connectivity service across over 96,000 Qatar Airways flights.
Business Class Recognition Continues
The airline’s 13th World’s Best Business Class win comes as Qsuite remains its flagship premium cabin product.
The suite design offers privacy alongside flexible spaces for passengers travelling together. Its four-person Quad configuration brings together four centre seats, with movable panels that can be lowered to create a shared area for dining, working or socialising.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Hamad Al-Khater credited employees with delivering the service behind the awards.
“These awards belong to our people,” he said, acknowledging the work of the group’s 60,000 colleagues during what he described as a particularly challenging year.
Al Mourjan Business Lounge – The Garden Takes Lounge Award
This year’s World’s Best Business Class Lounge award went to Al Mourjan Business Lounge – The Garden.
Overlooking The ORCHARD, the lounge combines contemporary interiors with a focus on comfort, wellness and its surrounding greenery. The result marks Qatar Airways’ eighth win in the category.
Middle East Services Set to Grow
Alongside its 14th Best Airline in the Middle East title, Qatar Airways highlighted a 14% increase in daily flights across its Middle East network for the winter season.
The airline will mark its 30th anniversary in 2027. Al-Khater also congratulated its oneworld partners after the alliance was named World’s Best Airline Alliance for 2026.
