Tempo by Hilton to Make German Debut at Munich Airport Arena

Hilton has signed a 199-room Tempo hotel for the MUNICH ARENA campus, with an opening planned for 2029 alongside the new concert venue.

Tempo by Hilton Munich Airport Arena will mark the brand’s entry into Germany and become one of its first European properties. Plans include a rooftop bar, a ground-floor café and a gym with a dedicated recovery area.

The signing joins previously announced Tempo projects in Belfast, Lisbon and Reykjavik. Hilton says the brand now has 86 properties open or in development.

A Hotel for Concertgoers and Airport Travellers

The hotel will form part of the MUNICH ARENA entertainment campus, providing accommodation for concertgoers, performers and touring crews near Munich Airport.

“Germany has been a key market for Hilton for more than 50 years, and we’re thrilled to bring Tempo by Hilton to the country for the first time,” said Thorsten Faasch, Managing Director, Development, DACH, Hilton.

“Strategically located at one of Europe’s busiest transport hubs and next to the new concert arena, the hotel offers exceptional convenience for travellers.”

For the arena’s developers, having accommodation on site is part of the wider plan for the venue.

“After the last song, the evening continues on site. Fans, artists and crews stay where the music happens,” said Lorenz Schmid, Managing Partner of MUNICH ARENA.

Rooftop Bar and Wellness Facilities Planned

Guest rooms will feature Tempo’s “Get Ready Zone”, a well-lit space with a vanity mirror, desk and open wardrobe.

The gym will include cardio equipment, a weights section and a recovery area. Dining options will comprise a ground-floor café and a rooftop bar serving craft cocktails and small plates.

The property will also participate in Hilton Honors, offering members access to the group’s loyalty programme.

Agreement Extends Hilton’s Airport Partnership

Hilton signed the management agreement with Allresto Munich Airport Hotel and Restaurants GmbH, a subsidiary of Munich Airport. Allresto has leased the property from SWMUNICH Accomodation GmbH, part of the MUNICH ARENA group.

“We are excited to be once again collaborating with Hilton, particularly as this marks a first for the Tempo by Hilton brand in Germany,” said Andreas Reichert, Managing Director of Allresto Munich Airport Hotel and Restaurants GmbH.

Munich Airport handled more than 43 million passengers in 2025, according to the announcement, providing an established travel market alongside the anticipated demand from the new arena.
