UNTWO to support Tenerife tourism

Tenerife, one of the most popular destinations in Europe, is considered to have enormous potential with 2.7 million tourists last year only.

During the visit of Affiliate Member SPET to the UNWTO headquarters, new tourism resources and institutional cooperation were discussed, in advance of the Global Summit Turismo 2024 and UNWTO’s “Best Tourism Villages” initiatives. The shared goal is to promote Tenerife tourism, as the area offers unique attractions, such as sports, hiking, climbing, biking, surfing, astro-tourism, gastro-tourism and many more.

SPET – Turismo De Tenerife advocates for the island of Tenerife tourism industry development, by focusing on quality, competitiveness, and sustainability of the area. At the same time, the organization collaborates with active industry entities and institutions in order to boost strategc interest, increase the island’s potential and make sure the sector alligns with the demand from customers.

The World Tourism Organization agency based is the United Nations institution promoting responsible, sustainable and accessible tourism.
