Qatar Airways announced a new interline partnership with South Africa–based Airlink, aiming to significantly improve regional connectivity across Southern Africa. The agreement allows passengers traveling with Qatar Airways to seamlessly connect through Johannesburg and access Airlink’s extensive network of domestic and regional destinations.
Through this collaboration, travelers flying from Doha can now reach cities such as Windhoek, Gaborone, Harare, Maputo, and other secondary destinations served by Airlink, using a single ticket and simplified transfer procedures. The partnership strengthens Qatar Airways’ presence on the African continent while offering Airlink customers expanded access to the airline’s global network of more than 140 destinations.
Executives from both airlines highlighted that the agreement supports the recovery of international and regional travel following the pandemic, while also boosting tourism and business links across Africa. The enhanced connectivity is expected to provide passengers with more travel options, smoother itineraries, and improved access to key markets.
The partnership marks an important step in reinforcing air travel integration between the Middle East and Africa, positioning both carriers to better serve growing demand in the region.
