Brazilian President: “Olympics Will Be a Success”

For three months, and via more than 300 cities, the famous torch will be carried by indigenous tribes that will sail aboard a canoe, will be transported then by a horse or suspended from a helicopter, or simply be worn down in the running by one of the 12,000 carriers until August 5, when they arrive on the famous Maracana stadium in Rio. There the first Olympic Games will be opened on the South American continent.

The first person that will carry the symbolic flame and begin the baton will be Fabiana, the female captain of the Brazilian volleyball team and double Olympic champion.

The Torch that had been lit in April in Greece, in the ancient site of Olympia, was handed Tuesday to the President Rousseff, who could be forced to resign next week if senators approve the impeachment procedure which already passed the Chamber of Deputies.
