Wizz Air, the largest low-cost company in Central and Eastern Europe, announces the start of direct flights from the Henri Coanda International Airport to London Gatwick Airport from 18th of June. Prices for the new daily flights will start from 50 Euros.
The new route will be the only direct link between the two airports and will offer the easiest access route from the Romanian capital to the south of London. For the Romanian customers, the route will mean also a second option to travel to London, along with direct flights between Bucharest and London Luton, in the north of the British capital.
Currently Wizz Air offers 114 routes, from 9 airports in Romania to 16 countries and provides low prices for leisure and business travel between Romania and the rest of Europe. In addition, this year, Wizz Air operations across Romania claim more than 3,300 indirect jobs in related industries, such as tourism or services.
Wizz Air continues to add capacity in Romania by allocating two new aircraft during 2016 in Cluj- Napoca and Bucharest. The company has one of the newest fleets in Europe and will soon begin phase 2 of its project by allocating in May, in Bucharest, a A321ceo, one of the most efficient aircraft with a single aisle in operation, which will contribute to the potential Wizz Air to offer low rates.
Owain Jones, Chief Corporate Officer of Wizz Air, declared that this new route brings cheap travel options between London and Bucharest and the south of England. The launch announcement means more convenient options for those traveling in southern Britain and London.
