AnimaWings launches London Gatwick – Bucharest route

AnimaWings has launched a new international route connecting London Gatwick with Bucharest Otopeni, marking the airline’s debut at the UK airport.

The service began on 22 March and operates six times per week from Gatwick’s South Terminal, offering passengers more direct travel options between the United Kingdom and Romania’s capital.

Flights are operated with modern Airbus A220-300 aircraft, featuring Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy cabins, aimed at delivering a high-quality onboard experience.

Bucharest continues to grow in popularity as a European city break destination, known for its mix of historic architecture, cultural attractions and vibrant nightlife. The route also strengthens connections for travellers heading to other parts of Romania, including Transylvania and the Carpathian Mountains.

London Gatwick representatives highlighted the importance of the new route in expanding the airport’s European network, while AnimaWings described the UK as a key strategic market driven by business, tourism and strong diaspora links.

The launch forms part of AnimaWings’ broader international expansion and comes as London Gatwick continues to attract new airlines, with eight new carriers joining the airport this year.
