New Aircraft Bases and Expanded Network

As part of its growing presence in Italy, easyJet will base five aircraft at Milan Linate and three at Rome Fiumicino, complementing its existing bases at Milan Malpensa and Naples. In total, easyJet will operate 38 aircraft across these four bases and serve 20 Italian airports, with plans to fly more than 20 million customers to and from Italy each year.

Milan Malpensa: A Key Hub in EasyJet’s European Network

Milan Malpensa will remain the heart of easyJet’s Italian and European network. Recently celebrating the milestone of 100 million passengers carried since 1998, Milan Malpensa is easyJet’s largest base in continental Europe. Over the last 26 years, the airline has transported more than 210 million passengers to and from Italy, reinforcing its commitment to affordable and accessible air travel.

easyJet’s Continued Investment and Job Creation

Kenton Jarvis, easyJet’s CFO and incoming CEO, expressed excitement over the new development, noting that the airline’s presence in Milan and Rome would help ensure a competitive market, offering Italian consumers greater choice and low fares. The expansion will also contribute to the airline’s ongoing growth and investment in Italy.

Lorenzo Lagorio, easyJet’s Country Manager for Italy, highlighted the airline’s success in democratizing air travel in the country, making travel across Europe more convenient for Italians. The expansion into Linate and Fiumicino will bring more choices to passengers while also creating more jobs and opportunities in the Italian aviation market.

This expansion underscores easyJet’s commitment to Italy and its broader European network, ensuring that the airline remains a key player in providing affordable travel options for millions of passengers.
