Siemens Mobility to Power Singapore’s New Cross Island MRT Line

Siemens Mobility to Power Singapore’s New Cross Island MRT Line

Siemens Mobility, in partnership with Concord Corporation Pte Ltd, has been selected by Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) to lead the power supply system for the Cross Island Line (CRL), Singapore’s eighth Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line.

Key Contract for Siemens Mobility

This marks Siemens Mobility’s third major project on the CRL, following previous contracts for the Overhead Catenary Rigid Power Supply system, Trainguard MT CBTC signalling systems, and platform screen doors. The Cross Island Line will be fully automated and driverless, leveraging Siemens Mobility’s advanced digital technologies.

Advanced Power Supply System

Siemens Mobility will be responsible for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the power supply system. The system will include three intake stations with 66kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), transformers, a 22kV Medium Voltage System, and a 1500V DC system. It will also feature a Condition Monitoring System and Intelligent Fault Isolation System (iFIS) to optimize performance and ensure reliable and safe electrification.

Commitment to Sustainability

The power supply system will be designed with modular features to facilitate future upgrades and ensure seamless integration with existing signalling systems, supporting sustainable and cost-effective operations.

Project Value and Scope

The contract, valued at approximately 270 million EUR, underscores Siemens Mobility’s ongoing commitment to enhancing Singapore’s public transportation infrastructure with cutting-edge technology.
