Zurich Airport's Summer 2024: Expands with More Transatlantic and European Flights

Airlines & Airports

Zurich Airport announces a robust summer 2024 timetable with 200 destinations, new routes to North America, Seoul, and across Europe, highlighting the airport's growing global connectivity.

Zurich Airport is set to enhance its global connectivity with the introduction of its summer 2024 timetable, featuring 200 destinations serviced by 62 airlines, marking a slight increase from the previous year. Notably, SWISS and Edelweiss Air are expanding their networks to include new destinations in Eastern and Northern Europe, among others.

The number of destinations directly served from Zurich will reach 200, up by nine from summer 2023. This expansion includes new routes to Seoul by SWISS, starting 7 May, complementing Korean Air's seasonal service. SWISS is also bolstering its North American network with flights to Washington beginning 28 March and Toronto from 10 May, offering frequent services throughout the summer and winter.

Delta Air Lines is resuming its Atlanta service, while Edelweiss Air enhances its North American offerings with daily flights to Vancouver during the summer months and increased frequencies to Calgary, Tampa, and Denver.

The return of Tunisair to Zurich after a three-year absence, with flights to Tunis and Djerba, highlights the enduring appeal of holiday destinations. Edelweiss Air is also increasing its flights to Muscat, Phuket, and extending its Colombian routes to Bogotà and Cartagena into the summer season.

China's connectivity continues to recover, with SWISS resuming daily flights to Shanghai and Cathay Pacific increasing its Hong Kong-Zurich route to four weekly flights, approaching pre-pandemic service levels.

European destinations remain a focus, with increased frequencies to Spain by Edelweiss and SWISS, including the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, and mainland Spain. Greece, a perennial favorite, sees more flights to Heraklion, Chania, Corfu, Zakynthos, Kos, and Rhodes. Aegean Airlines is also expanding its Athens service.

The summer timetable brings expanded service to Northern Europe, including increased flights to Oslo by Scandinavian Airlines, a new Edelweiss route to the Norwegian Lofoten Islands, and more flights to Tromsø. New destinations like Edinburgh, Newquay, and Keflavik are also added to Edelweiss's portfolio.

London Gatwick receives seven weekly SWISS flights, and new connections to Berlin are launched by Eurowings and increased by easyJet. ITA Airways is boosting its Rome-Zurich route to two daily flights.

Eastern Europe sees new additions with SWISS launching routes to Košice, Slovakia, and Cluj-Napoca, Romania, both served three times weekly year-round, emphasizing Zurich Airport's commitment to providing a broad and diverse network of destinations to travelers.
