Wizz Air announces suspension of dozens of flights from six Romanian airports in Summer 2024, affecting routes to cities like Prague, Preveza, Skiathos, Jeddah, and Abu Dhabi due to reduced demand.

Wizz Air suspends dozens of flights to and from Romania during the summer season. The airline Wizz Air has announced that it will suspend dozens of flights to and from six airports in Romania during the summer season of 2024, affecting travelers to multiple destinations.

According to BoardingPass.ro, at least 20 Wizz Air routes will be suspended or not resumed this summer season. Among these are flights to cities such as Prague, Preveza, and Skiathos, as well as more distant destinations like Jeddah and Abu Dhabi.

The cancellations will affect 6 airports in Romania, namely Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Iași, Timișoara, and Târgu Mureș. The affected routes include important connections to destinations such as Vienna, Berlin, Lyon, and Birmingham.

In addition to the announced suspensions, Wizz Air has also decided to reduce the frequency of several other routes to and from the country's airports. These drastic measures come as a result of reduced demand for certain destinations and changes in the travel market.
