Wizz Air Expands in Tirana with Four New Routes and Extra Capacity

Airlines & Airports

Wizz Air has announced its largest-ever expansion in Albania, adding four new routes from Tirana and increasing frequencies on several existing services as it continues to cement its status as the country’s leading airline.

The move includes the deployment of a 14th Airbus A321neo to Tirana International Airport from December 2025, enabling the airline to operate 57 routes across 18 countries from the Albanian capital. Wizz Air will add 500,000 seats per year to its network and create over 35 new direct jobs, with more than 350 additional roles supported in the local economy.

New Routes from Tirana

Starting this winter and continuing into spring 2026, Wizz Air will launch flights to four new European destinations:

  • Tirana – Cologne (Germany): Three times weekly from 16 December 2025

  • Tirana – Tenerife (Spain): Twice weekly from 14 December 2025

  • Tirana – Stockholm Arlanda (Sweden): Four times weekly from 2 March 2026

  • Tirana – Billund (Denmark): Twice weekly from 3 March 2026

Fares start from just 2490 LEK, available now via the Wizz Air website and app.

Increased Frequencies on Popular Routes

The newly based aircraft also enables Wizz Air to increase service on four of its most in-demand routes:

  • Milan Malpensa: From 16 to 21 weekly flights

  • Brussels: From 11 to 14 weekly flights

  • Turin: From 9 to 11 weekly flights

  • Berlin: From 7 to 9 weekly flights

To celebrate the announcement, Wizz Air is offering a 15% discount on selected flights booked on 9 September, valid for travel between 17 September and 17 December 2025 for Wizz Discount Club members.

Strengthening Albania’s Role in Regional Aviation

“This expansion demonstrates our commitment to making travel even more accessible for Albanian passengers,” said Piotr Trawka, Wizz Air’s Commercial Officer for Western and Southern Europe. “By increasing our network and adding capacity, we’re reinforcing Tirana’s position as a growing regional hub.”

Since its debut in Albania in 2017, Wizz Air has carried over 19 million passengers to and from the country. With this latest expansion, the airline aims to further enhance Albania’s connectivity with major European markets while offering low fares and modern, fuel-efficient aircraft.
