Gatwick Awards Construction Contracts for Six-Year Investment Plan
London Gatwick has awarded contracts to 11 construction and civil engineering suppliers under refreshed Building and Civils Frameworks, supporting the airport's capital investment programme for up to six years.
The selected contractors will deliver a broad range of infrastructure projects across the airport, including pier refurbishments, installation of electric vehicle charging stations, self-check-in system enhancements, and terminal facility upgrades. The scope covers asset replacement, capacity expansion, process and efficiency improvements, regulatory compliance, and service quality initiatives.
The framework is structured to improve access for smaller businesses, with 50 percent of contractors in the Lower Complexity category operating from local or regional offices. The contracts also include commitments to carbon management, local employment, and social impact, in line with Gatwick's Decade of Change sustainability strategy.
"The Building and Civils Frameworks are the latest step in delivering London Gatwick's ambitious capital investment programme, designed to ensure enhanced efficiency and experience for passengers, and help the airport meet crucial sustainability targets," said Alasdair Scobie, Capital Programmes Director at London Gatwick.
The 11 appointed framework partners are BP Installations Limited, Camgo Electrical Ltd, Costain Limited, Gatwick Construction Ltd, Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure Limited, M Group Transport (Rail and Aviation) Ltd, Mace Construct Limited, Morgan Sindall Construction and Infrastructure Ltd, P J Carey (Contractors) Limited, P.J. Hegarty & Sons (U.K.) Unlimited, and 8build Limited.
The announcement follows the launch of a Design Services Framework at Gatwick last year, with both frameworks together forming the backbone of the airport's long-term supply chain strategy.
