Wizz Air Adds Five New Routes for Summer 2026
Wizz Air has unveiled a slate of new routes for the Summer 2026 season, expanding its European network with five new connections across the continent.
From 31 March 2026, the airline will begin operating a new Sofia–Santander service connecting Bulgaria’s capital with northern Spain. This marks the first direct link between the two cities as part of Wizz Air’s growing Spanish portfolio. Two additional routes from Bulgaria will launch on 7 June 2026: Sofia–Corfu, linking travellers to the Greek island’s beaches and cultural sites, and Varna–Katowice, offering a new Poland connection from the Black Sea coast. All three services are scheduled to operate twice weekly.
In Italy, the airline is expanding operations at Milan Malpensa Airport with a new Milan–Bilbao route commencing on 11 May 2026. The four-times-weekly service will enhance links between northern Italy and Spain’s Basque Country, boosting both leisure and business travel options.
Wizz Air’s Mediterranean growth continues with a Naples–Palma de Mallorca route launching 12 May 2026. Operating three times a week, this service will connect southern Italy with the popular Balearic destination, catering to rising demand for sunshine and holiday travel across the region.
Together, these new routes reflect Wizz Air’s strategy to strengthen connectivity across Southern, Western and Central Europe ahead of the peak summer season. They will support tourism flows, business connections and affordable travel options across key European markets while reinforcing the airline’s network breadth from its Bulgarian and Italian bases.
