Västflyg Launches New Direct Route from Arlanda to Trollhättan

In a bid to improve travel options for residents and visitors, local air carrier Västflyg has announced the launch of a new direct route connecting Stockholm Arlanda Airport with Trollhättan Vänersborg Airport. The service will begin on October 2, 2024, and will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Enhancing Connectivity

This new route is part of Västflyg’s commitment to enhancing connectivity between western Sweden and the capital. Elizabeth Axtelius, Director of Aviation Business at Swedavia, expressed her enthusiasm for the expansion, highlighting the importance of domestic flights in fostering connections across the country.

“A strong domestic flight is essential for people to meet across the country and have smooth connections to the rest of the world,” Axtelius stated.

Responding to Demand

Anna Petre, CEO of Västflyg, emphasized the strong demand for travel from Trollhättan to global destinations. She noted that while direct flights from Arlanda serve many locations, they were previously unavailable for the immediate area.

“We are extra happy to present Arlanda as a destination, which enables easier and faster travel for our customers,” Petre said.
