Southwest Airlines is marking the first anniversary of Getaways by Southwest, its in-house vacation package platform, by expanding its portfolio of destinations, launching a special anniversary promotion, and celebrating with a travel-themed campaign inspired by the upcoming film Spa Weekend.
Introduced in 2025, Getaways by Southwest enables travelers to bundle flights, hotels, and optional rental cars into one vacation package while enjoying the flexibility, value, and rewards associated with Southwest Airlines.
To celebrate the milestone, Southwest hosted a “Spa Weekend”-themed event featuring a wellness-inspired hangar experience in Burbank, California, a special celebratory flight to Las Vegas, and an exclusive premiere of the upcoming movie. Las Vegas was selected as the anniversary destination because it remains the most-booked Getaways by Southwest location.
New destinations added
The vacation platform has expanded to include several popular ski destinations, including:
- Portland, Oregon
- Salt Lake City, Utah
- Montrose, Colorado (gateway to Telluride and Crested Butte)
- Hayden, Colorado (gateway to Steamboat Springs)
Beginning in October, customers will also be able to book vacation packages to:
- Austin, Texas
- Santa Rosa, California
- Tucson, Arizona
- Bozeman, Montana
- Panama City Beach, Florida
- Pensacola, Florida
- Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Florida
Vacation package benefits
Getaways by Southwest continues to offer customers several travel benefits, including:
- Earn 5 Rapid Rewards® points per dollar spent on eligible vacation packages.
- Two free checked bags per traveler.
- Complimentary standard seat selection after booking.
- Savings by bundling flights, hotels, and optional rental cars.
- No change fees and vacation travel credits valid for up to 18 months when eligible trips are canceled at least 10 minutes before departure.
Limited-time anniversary promotion
To mark its first anniversary, Getaways by Southwest is offering a “Spa Weekend” promotion through August 24, 2026. Customers can save on eligible domestic and international vacation packages by using promotional code GETAWAYS2026 when booking.
The anniversary campaign also features collaborations with several travel and lifestyle content creators. Beginning in November, Southwest passengers will be able to stream Spa Weekend through the airline’s inflight entertainment portal one month before the film becomes available on other airlines.
