IHG Hotels & Resorts has opened InterContinental Taipei, a 347-room hotel in the Taipei Dome complex in Xinyi District. The property features seven dining concepts, residential-style suites and event spaces, adding a new flagship to the brand’s portfolio in Taiwan.
Announced on October 12, 2026, the opening marks IHG’s second InterContinental project with developer Farglory Group, following InterContinental Kaohsiung. It also coincides with the InterContinental brand’s 80th anniversary.
Rooms with Taipei 101 views and suites with kitchens
Classic Rooms start at approximately 38 square metres, with selected rooms overlooking Taipei 101. The hotel’s residential-style suites start at around 76 square metres and include a full kitchen, dining area and in-suite laundry, providing additional facilities for longer stays.
The interiors draw on Taipei’s architecture and cultural history, with local references incorporated into the lobby installation and musical motifs used throughout the event spaces.
Guests also have access to an indoor pool, a fitness centre and Club InterContinental.
Seven dining concepts in Xinyi District
The hotel’s seven dining concepts include restaurants led by chef Akira Back. Alongside its accommodation and leisure facilities, the property offers flexible spaces for business events and social gatherings.
Its location within the Taipei Dome complex places it close to the district’s business, cultural, dining and entertainment attractions.
Robbert Manussen, IHG’s Area General Manager for Luxury & Lifestyle in Taiwan and General Manager of InterContinental Taipei, said the aim was to create a hotel with a strong connection to its surroundings.
“Our ambition is for InterContinental Taipei to be more than a hotel in Taipei; it should feel like a hotel that belongs to Taipei,” he said.
“We want the hotel to become a gateway into the city: a place where international travelers can experience Taipei more deeply, and where local guests can discover new ways to enjoy the city they call home.”
InterContinental expands its Taiwan portfolio
The Taipei opening follows a series of InterContinental launches in Taiwan. InterContinental Kaohsiung opened in 2021, followed by InterContinental Taichung in 2024 and InterContinental New Taipei Hot Spring in 2025. The latter was the brand’s first hot spring resort in the market.
IHG and Farglory Group have also recently signed Hualien Farglory Hotel to the Vignette Collection, extending their partnership beyond the InterContinental brand.
IHG said it plans to continue expanding in Taiwan with local owners and partners, citing the market’s cultural attractions, varied tourism offering and appeal to domestic and international travellers.
