SAS Adds Night Stop and More Flights to Kiruna
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will introduce a night stop in Kiruna starting with the winter schedule on 25 October 2026, allowing travelers to make same-day trips between Kiruna and Stockholm.
With the new arrangement, passengers will be able to depart Kiruna early in the morning for Stockholm, spend the day in the capital and return on a late evening flight. The move is part of SAS’s strategy to strengthen domestic connectivity in Sweden and improve links between regional cities and the airline’s wider international network.
At the same time, SAS plans to increase flights between Copenhagen and Kiruna to meet growing international demand for winter tourism in Swedish Lapland. During the peak winter season from 17 December to 7 March, the airline will increase service on the Copenhagen–Kiruna route from two to three weekly flights.
The schedule has been designed to provide convenient connections through Copenhagen, SAS’s main global hub, which offers direct links to destinations across Europe, North America and Asia.
According to SAS, the expanded service will make it easier for travelers from around the world to reach Kiruna while also improving access for residents in northern Sweden to international destinations via Copenhagen and Stockholm.
Local tourism and airport officials have welcomed the announcement, saying the improved connectivity will support both business travel and tourism in the region, which has seen increasing global interest in its winter attractions and Arctic landscapes.
