: Sainsbury’s Opens Its First Manchester Airport Store in Terminal 3

Manchester Airport has welcomed its first Sainsbury’s store, with a Sainsbury’s Local opening in Terminal 3 Arrivals — making Manchester the third UK airport to host the supermarket, following Edinburgh Airport in 2024 and London Luton.

The store will offer a curated convenience range including meal deals, food on the go, and home and kitchen essentials. A notable added feature is the ability to order from Argos and Habitat online for collection at the airport store, meaning passengers can pick up purchases either on their return from holiday or before departure. The store is expected to create 24 jobs.

“When passengers arrive back into the country after a trip abroad, they value the convenience of being able to pick up the essentials they need to restock their fridges or kitchen cupboards right here,” said Richard Jackson, Retail Director at Manchester Airport. “The added bonus of being able to collect your Argos or Habitat orders from this store means you can order something while on holiday and pick it up as soon as you arrive back.”

The opening is part of a broader Terminal 3 revival at Manchester Airport. The terminal expanded earlier this year following the closure of Terminal 1, and has recently seen a 400-seat sports bar open in the departure lounge, with an Italian restaurant, Terracotta, set to follow later in 2026.

Sainsbury’s says the airport expansion forms part of a wider push into transport hubs across the UK.
