Munich Airport Opens New Dining Concepts in Terminal 1
Munich Airport is expanding its food and beverage offering with a new lineup of restaurants in Terminal 1 Pier, aiming to enhance the passenger experience with a mix of Bavarian specialties and international cuisine.
The new dining portfolio includes five restaurants operated by the airport subsidiary Allresto Flughafen München Hotel und Gaststätten GmbH. The concepts are designed to combine high-quality ingredients, modern design and strong service standards while reflecting the airport’s “Bavarian soul” philosophy.
One of the highlights is Käfer, a well-known Munich gourmet brand that brings its signature cuisine to the terminal. The restaurant offers a menu featuring classic dishes such as beef tartare and Wiener schnitzel, along with seasonal specialties. Guests can also enjoy a selection of more than 100 German and international wines in an environment that includes an open show kitchen.
The concept is complemented by “the ODEON by Käfer,” which blends urban bar culture with modern delicacies and small plates designed for sharing. The venue offers nearly 90 seats and a wine selection of more than 100 labels, alongside options for travelers seeking a quick snack or a relaxed drink before departure.
Italian cuisine is represented by Cucina Popolare, which reinterprets traditional Italian dishes such as pizza and pasta while maintaining a focus on authentic flavors and a convivial dining atmosphere. The restaurant can accommodate around 120 guests.
Another addition is Münchner Leibspeise, a multi-brand food concept combining Munich classics with international cuisine. The venue features several food stations offering dishes ranging from Bavarian roast chicken and traditional white sausages to burgers, Asian meals and vegetarian or vegan options. The concept includes about 100 seats as well as self-order terminals designed to reduce waiting times.
The fifth addition is dean&david, a brand known for its fresh and health-focused menu. The restaurant offers salads, bowls, hot dishes, juices and smoothies made with premium ingredients and without artificial additives. Located in the public area of the new pier, the venue provides more than 60 seats and focuses on quick, nutritious meals for travelers.
Munich Airport says the new restaurant concepts are intended to create a welcoming environment for passengers, combining local culinary identity with a diverse range of international dining options.
