Korean Air Deploys 787-10 on Zurich Route
Korean Air will introduce its Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner on the Zurich–Seoul Incheon route beginning June 2, marking the 50th anniversary of its service to Switzerland and upgrading one of its longest-standing European connections.
The Zurich route is Korean Air’s second-oldest gateway in Europe. During the 2026 summer season, flights will operate three times weekly, from March 31 through October 24.
The Boeing 787-10 is the largest variant in the Dreamliner family, measuring 68.3 meters in length—approximately five meters longer than the 787-9. The added size increases passenger and cargo capacity by 15%. Built using advanced carbon composite materials, the aircraft reduces fuel consumption and carbon emissions by more than 20% compared with similar-sized aircraft. Chevron nozzles on the engine nacelles also help minimize noise, creating a quieter cabin environment.
Korean Air’s 787-10 is configured with 325 seats, including 36 Prestige Class seats and 289 Economy Class seats.
The aircraft features the airline’s new “Prestige Suites 2.0,” designed with high partitions for enhanced privacy. The interior incorporates patterns inspired by Jogakbo, traditional Korean patchwork, adding a distinctive cultural touch. Each suite converts into a fully flat 78-inch (198 cm) bed, with a 46-inch pitch and 21-inch width. Passengers also benefit from 24-inch 4K monitors and Bluetooth audio connectivity.
The upgraded Economy cabin is arranged in a 3-3-3 configuration and offers a 32-inch pitch, 17.2-inch width and 120-degree recline. Each seat includes a 13-inch 4K monitor—larger than on previous models—along with individual USB-C charging ports. In-flight Wi-Fi is available throughout the aircraft.
Korean Air’s Regional Manager for Switzerland said the introduction of the 787-10 reflects the airline’s commitment to privacy, comfort and sustainable travel as it celebrates five decades of service between Zurich and Seoul.
From June 2 to October 24, 2026, flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Flight KE918 departs Zurich at 19:30 and arrives in Seoul at 14:10 the following day, while flight KE917 departs Incheon at 11:05 and lands in Zurich at 17:25.
