Eurowings Launches Direct Booking for Codeshare Flights

Eurowings has taken a major step in enhancing its digital services by launching direct booking and check-in for codeshare flights via its website and app.
This update allows customers to seamlessly search, book, and check in for flights operated in partnership with other airlines—starting with AEGEAN Airlines and Smartwings. The move expands Eurowings’ route network with more destinations and increased flight frequency, all available through a single digital platform.
The launch marks a significant milestone in a two-year project developed in collaboration with Lufthansa Group Hub Airlines, Lufthansa Systems, and the Lufthansa Group Digital Hangar. It also lays the groundwork for integrating more airline partners, both within and outside of codeshare agreements.
“With the expansion of our marketplace on eurowings.com, we are bundling all relevant flight options in a single booking channel for the first time – giving our customers more choice, flexibility, and significantly more convenient handling,” said Michael Erfert, Head of Sales & Distribution at Eurowings and Managing Director of Eurowings Digital.
Uniquely, the new platform supports both “ticketless” and “ticketed” flights—an offering only a few global airlines provide. This means travelers can now combine Eurowings flights with partner-operated routes in one booking, streamlining the experience for both leisure and business passengers.
The update positions Eurowings to strengthen its digital sales capabilities and further expand its platform with additional airline partners in the near future.
