Delta Air Lines and American Express have introduced a new round of limited-time welcome offers for Delta SkyMiles American Express Cards, including a first-of-its-kind incentive combining two round-trip flight certificates with 50,000 bonus miles.
The offers are available to eligible new card members from August 27 through November 4, 2026, and cover multiple products across the Delta SkyMiles American Express Card portfolio.
The headline promotion applies to the Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Consumer Card. Eligible new members can earn two round-trip Delta Comfort flight certificates plus 50,000 bonus SkyMiles after spending $10,000 on purchases during their first six months of card membership.
The certificates have no blackout dates and can be used for eligible round-trip travel on Delta-operated flights within the 48 contiguous U.S. states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
A minimum 21-day advance purchase is required, while taxes and fees of up to $80 per passenger may apply.
Delta and Amex Expand Card Benefits
The limited-time promotions follow a series of changes introduced earlier this summer as Delta and American Express marked 30 years of partnership.
Among the additions was a Second Bag Free benefit for eligible Basic Card members travelling on domestic Delta-operated flights.
Gold Card members also received a new rideshare credit following their first renewal, while several cards received updated designs. Delta said the benefits were introduced without increases to annual fees.
The latest welcome offers are intended to add to a broader set of travel and loyalty benefits available across the card portfolio.
15% Discount on Delta Award Travel
Eligible holders of Delta SkyMiles Gold, Gold Business, Platinum, Platinum Business, Reserve and Reserve Business American Express Cards can use the TakeOff 15 benefit when redeeming miles.
The benefit provides a 15% discount on eligible Delta-operated award flights booked through Delta’s website or the Fly Delta app.
The discount does not apply to partner-operated flights or associated taxes and fees.
Platinum, Platinum Business, Reserve and Reserve Business card members can also receive an MQD Headstart of $2,500 Medallion Qualification Dollars per eligible card type during each qualification year.
Cardholders can earn additional MQDs through everyday spending under Delta’s MQD Boost programme, providing another route towards Medallion Status.
Eligible Reserve and Platinum cardholders with qualifying tickets can also be added to Delta’s complimentary upgrade list after SkyMiles Medallion members.
Dining and In-Flight Benefits
Delta SkyMiles Reserve Card members can access additional restaurant benefits by linking an eligible card to a Resy profile.
This includes access to participating U.S. restaurants through Global Dining Access by Resy.
Delta and American Express are also running a temporary in-flight promotion through October 31, 2026. Eligible cardholders can receive one complimentary premium snack on selected Delta flights of more than 900 miles.
Passengers must log in to Delta Sync Wi-Fi on an eligible flight and access the offer through the Delta Amex section. A physical card is required for redemption.
Card members can also receive 20% back in the form of a statement credit on eligible Delta in-flight food and beverage purchases.
SkyMiles Experiences Adds Exclusive Cardholder Events
Beyond flight-related benefits, Delta is continuing to expand access to entertainment and lifestyle events through its SkyMiles Experiences platform.
The Card Member Collection provides eligible Delta SkyMiles American Express cardholders with access to a rotating selection of experiences spanning entertainment, fashion and adventure. Members can use SkyMiles to redeem access, with another collection scheduled to launch in September.
One of the current programmes is the Rolling Stone Residency at Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City, a six-show series combining intimate performances with artist conversations.
Eligible card members redeeming miles through SkyMiles Experiences can receive additional benefits including dedicated merchandise, custom trading cards and access to dining experiences at the theatre’s Wild Cherry restaurant.
Additional performances are planned through the remainder of 2026, including one show reserved exclusively for eligible card members.
The latest promotions extend a partnership between Delta and American Express that has now been running for three decades, with both companies increasingly using the SkyMiles card portfolio to combine airline loyalty benefits with dining, entertainment and other travel-related experiences.
