British Airways Opens New Flagship Lounges in Miami and Dubai with Bold Design Concept

Airlines & Airports

British Airways has unveiled a new era of lounge design with the launch of two brand-new premium spaces at Miami International Airport and Dubai International Airport. The openings mark the debut of the airline’s next-generation lounge concept, combining signature British flair with distinctive local influences.

In partnership with global design firm Gensler, the lounges represent a major step in British Airways' £7 billion transformation programme. Both locations feature full-service bars, elevated dining concepts, and the exclusive Concorde Dining Room for First Class customers.

A Local Twist on British Style

Each lounge has been meticulously crafted to reflect the culture and character of its host city. Miami’s lounge showcases Art Deco-inspired interiors, bold colours, and panoramic airfield views, while Dubai’s design blends British elegance with traditional Middle Eastern architectural details such as sweeping arches and fretwork.

The Miami space spans 13,000 sq ft — British Airways' largest lounge outside London — and is located directly above its departure gate in Terminal E. Dubai’s new lounge, at nearly 5,800 sq ft, is found in Terminal 1 and features materials and textures sourced locally in the UAE.

Elevated Dining and Premium Amenities

Both lounges feature full-service bars as focal points, serving bespoke cocktails such as the Prickly Margarita in Miami and a Dubai Chocolate Martini in the UAE. Guests can also enjoy menus that highlight local ingredients with a British twist — from papaya and kale salad in Miami to Arabic mezze in Dubai.

Travellers flying First can access the Concorde Dining Room, offering à la carte menus with fine wines, Wagyu beef, diver scallops, and signature desserts like Umm Ali. The lounges also include private work pods, shower suites, and quiet zones for relaxation.

Designed for the Future of Travel

Calum Laming, British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer, said:

“These unique spaces have been created with our customers in mind and are the next step in our extensive lounge transformation plan. Whether they’re looking to relax, dine, work or enjoy a drink, there’s something for everyone.”

British Airways is also working with partners including Cranfield University and Gensler to ensure the lounge experience aligns with the future of travel — with a focus on hospitality, sustainability, and local identity. More lounge upgrades are expected, following recent refurbishments in London Gatwick, Lagos, Singapore, Seattle, and Washington Dulles.
