Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), Marriott Bonvoy and Visa have launched two new co-branded cards in the UAE, combining everyday spending rewards with hotel loyalty benefits and premium travel privileges.
The Marriott Bonvoy ADIB Visa Infinite Card and Marriott Bonvoy ADIB Visa Signature Card allow customers to earn Marriott Bonvoy points on qualifying purchases and redeem them across Marriott International’s global hotel portfolio.
The partnership brings together ADIB’s Sharia-compliant banking services, Marriott Bonvoy’s travel and loyalty programme and Visa’s global payments network.
Marriott Bonvoy Points on Everyday Spending
Cardholders can earn Marriott Bonvoy points through qualifying everyday purchases, with points available for hotel stays, room upgrades, dining and other experiences.
Marriott Bonvoy currently spans more than 30 hotel brands and over 10,000 destinations worldwide.
Points can also be transferred to more than 40 airline partners or used for experiences offered through Marriott Bonvoy Moments, including entertainment, sporting, culinary and cultural events.
Up to 200,000 Welcome Points
As part of a limited-time introductory offer, customers taking out the Marriott Bonvoy ADIB Visa Infinite Card can earn up to 200,000 Marriott Bonvoy points.
Infinite cardholders can also fast-track their Marriott Bonvoy membership from Gold Elite to Platinum Elite.
The Marriott Bonvoy ADIB Visa Signature Card, meanwhile, comes with 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy points upon activation and Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status.
Both cards provide Marriott Bonvoy Elite status benefits, which can include priority late checkout and enhanced room upgrades, subject to availability. Additional benefits include airport lounge access, dining offers and other travel and lifestyle privileges.
“This partnership represents a significant step in enhancing how we reward our customers and connect with their lifestyle aspirations,” said Amit Malhotra, Global Head of Retail Banking at ADIB.
“By combining ADIB’s leadership in Islamic finance with Marriott Bonvoy’s world-class hospitality programme and Visa’s payment technology leadership, we are creating meaningful value that extends beyond banking and reflects our vision to be a trusted partner in every aspect of our customers’ lives.”
Marriott Expands Travel Rewards Offering in the UAE
The launch targets the UAE’s large and active international travel market, giving Marriott Bonvoy members another way to accumulate points outside hotel stays.
“The launch of these new credit cards in the UAE reflects our continued commitment to enhancing the travel journey for our Marriott Bonvoy members and offering them even more rewarding ways to fuel their passion for travel,” said Andrew Watson, Chief Commercial Officer, EMEA, Marriott International.
“The UAE is home to a highly engaged community of travellers, and these cards are designed to give them greater flexibility in how they earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points, enjoy meaningful benefits and unlock inspiring travel experiences across our portfolio of global destinations.”
Salima Gutieva, Visa’s Vice President and Country Manager for the UAE, said the partnership was designed to combine travel and lifestyle rewards with Visa’s international acceptance and payment security.
“With ADIB and Marriott Bonvoy, we’ve designed a distinctive, rewarding card proposition their customers can enjoy with the backing of Visa’s security and global acceptance at more than 150 million merchant partners,” she said.
The two cards are now available to eligible customers in the UAE.
