Accor’s MGallery Collection is expanding in Greece with the September opening of Nírema Hotel & Spa Samos, a 72-room seafront property at the entrance to Vathy.
Set beside the Samos Wine Museum, the hotel combines Aegean views, suites with private pools and a guest-only beachfront area. Its dining and wellness experiences draw on the island’s landscapes, winemaking traditions and cultural heritage.
The property will be managed by Athens-based SWOT Hospitality Management and becomes MGallery’s fourth hotel in Greece.
Sea-View Rooms and Private-Pool Suites
Nírema’s 72 rooms offer views across the Aegean, Vathy Bay and the Ampelos hills. Eight suites have private pools and spacious terraces.
The hotel’s name comes from a Samian dialect word meaning “dream”. Its contemporary Mediterranean design takes inspiration from the island’s coastal scenery, historic sites and association with the philosopher Pythagoras.
Along the waterfront, a private beach area reserved for guests includes sunbeds and a beach bar serving light bites.
Local Wine Takes Centre Stage
A sea-view à la carte restaurant will focus on the island’s agricultural heritage, while a pool bar will serve cocktails.
The hotel’s Curvus wine cellar will host tastings and food pairings centred on Samos’s Muscat grape. Its location beside the Samos Wine Museum provides a further connection to the island’s wine culture.
Nírema’s signature guest experience, The Cup of Pythagoras – A Samian Wine Ritual, will combine a sommelier-led tasting with local honey, olives, herbs, nuts and seasonal fruit.
Wines will be served in traditional Cups of Pythagoras, vessels whose concealed siphon drains the contents if filled beyond a certain level. The experience uses the cup’s design to explore themes of balance and moderation.
Spa, Fitness Centre and Outdoor Pool
The wellness offering includes a spa with treatments inspired by Samos’s natural surroundings, a fitness centre and an outdoor swimming pool.
Owner Stelios Zarbanis said the project was conceived to bring together design, nature, wine and wellbeing while retaining a close connection to the island.
Stelios Koutsivitis, President of SWOT Hospitality Management, described the partnership with Accor as an important step in the company’s development of hotels rooted in their destinations.
MGallery Plans Further Growth in Greece
Nírema joins Athens Capital Hotel, Athens Capital Suites and NIKO Seaside Resort Crete in MGallery’s Greek portfolio.
The brand has four further hotels in development in Greece, including properties in Chania and the wider Athens region. Globally, MGallery has more than 125 boutique hotels.
