Delta Air Lines will launch nonstop flights from Los Angeles International Airport to Monterey and Philadelphia and increase service to seven other US destinations as it prepares its largest-ever LAX schedule for summer 2027.
At the summer peak, Delta and its partners expect to offer more than 200 daily departures to nearly 70 destinations from Los Angeles. The expansion pairs additional domestic flights with continued investment in lounges and onboard services.
Monterey Flights Begin in December
Twice-daily flights between Los Angeles and Monterey will begin on December 19, 2026. Delta Connection will operate the route with Embraer 175 aircraft.
The service will provide a new connection to California’s Central Coast, including the Monterey Peninsula, Carmel-by-the-Sea and Big Sur. Delta will also introduce daily nonstop flights between Salt Lake City and Monterey on the same date.
“We’re continuing to invest in more ways for customers to experience everything California has to offer,” said Amy Martin, Delta’s Vice President of Network Planning.
Daily Philadelphia Service Starts in June 2027
Delta’s new Los Angeles–Philadelphia route will launch on June 7, 2027, with daily flights operated by an Airbus A321neo.
The addition will be accompanied by higher frequencies on seven existing domestic routes, with increases starting in April and continuing through July.

International Growth Adds to the LAX Network
The domestic expansion follows growth across Delta’s international network from Los Angeles, including new Hong Kong and Shanghai services and announced routes to Vancouver and Manila.
In the South Pacific, Delta serves Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland. Melbourne flights will increase to daily for the peak period beginning December 22, while daily Auckland service returns on October 25.
The airline is also expanding its LAX–Florida schedule to as many as 13 daily departures, including new Palm Beach service and additional flights to Tampa, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale.
More Lounge Space at Los Angeles Airport
The schedule changes build on Delta’s $2.3 billion Sky Way project, which connected and modernised Terminals 2 and 3 at LAX.
The airport now has two Delta One Lounges, following the opening of the first phase of the airline’s second facility. An additional 11,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club is scheduled to open in Terminal 2 in 2027.
By 2028, Delta plans to offer four lounge spaces across the two terminals: two Delta One Lounges and two Sky Clubs, together covering more than 60,000 square feet with over 1,000 seats.
Delta One passengers also have access to a dedicated check-in area and private TSA security screening.
Onboard Changes Include Wine and Wi-Fi
From October 1, Delta One passengers will be offered a new wine selection featuring 13 choices from California and international producers. Domestic First Class dining includes dishes developed by José Andrés.
Delta also plans to extend fast, free Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members to flights from Los Angeles across the Pacific beginning this autumn.
The airline’s wider Los Angeles investment comes as the city prepares to host the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, for which Delta is a founding partner.
