Air France will move all of its New York JFK operations to the airport’s New Terminal One in 2027, where the airline plans to open its largest international lounge to date.
The new Air France lounge will cover more than 2,700 square metres across two levels and accommodate over 400 guests.
The move forms part of a broader upgrade to Air France’s passenger experience in New York, one of the airline’s most important long-haul markets.
The lounge will be available to eligible La Première and Business passengers, Flying Blue Elite Plus members and qualifying customers travelling with KLM and other SkyTeam partner airlines.
Air France’s largest international lounge
Designed by Air France in collaboration with MARKS Brandimage, the new facility will become the airline’s largest lounge outside France.
Dining will be a major focus, with dedicated areas showcasing French cuisine alongside a bar offering a selection of French wines and champagnes.
The two-level space will also include dedicated areas for relaxation and work, as well as beauty treatment facilities.
Flying Blue Ultimate members will have access to a separate exclusive area within the lounge.
The airline has not yet revealed the full design or food and beverage programme, with additional details expected ahead of the opening.
Dedicated La Première experience at JFK
Air France is also planning a separate experience for passengers travelling in its La Première first-class cabin.
La Première customers will have access to an exclusive section within the lounge, including a dedicated dining concept created by a French chef whose name has yet to be announced.
The airline says the premium journey will extend from arrival at New Terminal One through to boarding, with personalised services designed to minimise friction during the airport experience.
The development comes as Air France continues to expand its new La Première product on the New York route.
During the summer season, the carrier operates up to six daily flights between Paris Charles de Gaulle and New York JFK, including four Boeing 777-300ER services featuring the new La Première cabin.
Delta Air Lines, Air France’s transatlantic joint-venture partner, operates an additional three flights on the market.
Air France consolidates JFK operations at New Terminal One
The lounge opening will coincide with Air France transferring all of its JFK flights to the airport’s New Terminal One.
The new terminal is being developed with upgraded passenger technology, expanded retail and dining facilities and new premium spaces for international airlines.
For Air France, the move will bring its JFK operation together with a substantially larger lounge capable of supporting both its own passengers and eligible customers travelling with KLM and SkyTeam partners.
New York remains one of Air France’s largest international markets.
Across JFK and Newark, the airline operates up to eight daily flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle during the summer season, with as many as six serving JFK and two operating to Newark.
With the New Terminal One move and the opening of its 2,700-square-metre lounge, Air France is preparing one of its most significant airport investments outside its Paris hub.
