Korean Air will begin migrating Asiana Airlines passenger bookings and flight numbers in November, one of the most visible operational steps ahead of the two carriers’ integration on December 17, 2026.
Between November 2 and December 3, existing Asiana bookings for travel on or after December 17 will be progressively transferred to Korean Air’s systems.
As part of the process, Asiana Airlines’ OZ flight numbers will be replaced by Korean Air’s KE flight numbers.
The migration will affect passengers who already hold Asiana Airlines reservations and tickets for flights departing from December 17 onwards.
Asiana bookings will be migrated in phases
Rather than transferring all reservations at once, Korean Air will carry out the migration in stages over approximately one month.
The airline said the phased approach is intended to protect system reliability and maintain stable operations while Asiana services are transferred to Korean Air.
Passengers affected by the changes will receive their updated itinerary and ticket information individually before departure.
Korean Air plans to contact travellers through SMS, mobile messaging services and email, meaning passengers with existing Asiana bookings should check that their contact information associated with the reservation is up to date.
“Our main priority during this integration is minimizing disruption for our passengers and maintaining stable service,” a Korean Air spokesperson said.
“By rolling out these changes in phases and providing advance notice, we are committed to maintaining operational stability throughout the handover.”
What passengers with Asiana tickets need to know
The transition applies to existing Asiana Airlines tickets for travel on or after December 17, 2026.
The key dates are:
- November 2, 2026: phased booking and flight number migration begins
- December 3, 2026: scheduled completion of the migration process
- December 17, 2026: integrated airline operations officially begin
During the migration period, passengers may see their original OZ flight number replaced with a KE flight number as their booking is transferred.
Korean Air has also created a dedicated FAQ covering operational changes related to the integration, available through its official website and mobile app.
The booking migration represents a significant step in the process of absorbing Asiana Airlines into Korean Air, moving the integration from corporate restructuring towards changes that will be directly visible to passengers.
